Paramount+'s action drama series NCIS: Tony & Ziva is racing towards a thrilling finale. The penultimate episode of the season, titled "Ride or Die," leaves the viewers on a cliffhanger about Tali's fate and pushes the story towards its explosive finale.
At the centre of the series, we have the popular NCIS duo, Tony DiNozzo Jr. and Ziva David, who relocate to France with their daughter Tali to start a new life. But their peace doesn't last long. When Tony and Ziva are accused of a crime that they didn't commit, they are bound to unravel the mastermind behind it. They move all across Europe, chasing the culprit while keeping their daughter, Tali, safe from the chaos.
Previously, in NCIS: Tony & Ziva, we saw how Jonah takes the crucial data chip and leaves with Aaron Graves, while Tony follows them. However, when Ziva loses track of Tony, she worries. Episode 9 opens with Claudette tracking Aaron and Jonah to locate Tony. Something strikes Ziva's mind, and she knows Tony too well. She reaches for the laptop and finds a clue and a phone number that Tony left in the audio commentary of Forest Gump. She calls Tony, and he informs her that he's in Isla Zafira, Spain.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 9 recap: The Hunt on the Island
When Ziva tracks Tony to an island, Jonah and Graves prepare their next move. Jonah manipulates both sides, playing a double agent to gain control of Reigning Fire's technology. Jonah tries to win Graves to his side by assuring him that Interpol will provide him security and pinning the blame on Tony and Ziva.
Meanwhile, Tony informs Ziva that 9.4 is an A.I. that learns and improves continuously, thus keeping a track of the history. So if they can trace the 9.4, they could easily expose Jonah's crimes. Tony decides to infiltrate Graves' compound, but it isn't as easy as it looks.
Ziva instructs Tali and Sophie to seek safety in Barbados. But Tali isn't too thrilled; she wants to be with her parents, no matter what. Ziva travels to the island with Claudette and Boris (yes, he's cancelled his honeymoon), where Reigning Fire soldiers ambush them. The fight is brutal and fast. Ziva dominates the combat and, later, with the help of Boris, tricks the island's CCTV system ( generates multiple IDs) to help them move freely. Claudette discovers the Graves tunnel network, and they determine that it aligns with the energy grid, suggesting that Graves might be plotting something significant.
Jonah has tricked Tony with a photo suggesting Ziva's capture. Tony rushes into danger alone, walking straight into Jonah's trap. On the other hand, Martine isn't the one to back down; she regains Jonah's trust by telling him that she can retrieve Dejan's laptop. Jonah thus invites her to the compound.
At the compound, Martine reappears. Her loyalty shifts again when she kills Graves and escapes. Dejan's survival confirms that Martine has been playing her own game. The conspiracy behind Reigning Fire deepens as every character faces betrayal.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 9 recap: Tali goes missing
The climax hits hard. Jonah detonates an explosion inside the compound, trapping Tony. Ziva races through the tunnels to reach him. Against all odds, Tony survives. The two reunite amid debris and dust. Their reunion delivers a quiet but powerful moment of truth. They finally express their love after years of running and regret.
The closing scenes change the tone. Tali's plane makes an emergency landing near the island. Attackers swarm the runaway. Sophie fights back, but drones distract her. In the chaos, Tali disappears.

Amidst the wedding chaos, Tali goes missing. Tony checks the CCTV footage, but he keeps it a secret from Ziva to avoid stressing her. But when the hotel staff informs Ziva about Tali, she rushes to Tony. Their conversation turns to an argument, and both of them blame each other. The staff find Tali in the garden. Tony and Ziva rush to check whether their daughter is okay. But the damage was done. Later in the evening, they called off the wedding.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva Episode 9 builds perfect momentum for the finale. Every scene carries importance. Every decision sets up the endgame. Tony and Ziva's story now balances on one question: how far will they go to bring their daughter home?
