The Challenge star Johnny Bananas opened up about returning to the show's current season in his August 9, 2025, interview with Us Weekly. While talking to Christina Garibaldi, Johnny talked about various things.

One of the discussions was about getting back to the show and staying in shape. He also talked about his boxing studio and what his routine looks like on a daily basis.

When he was asked if he needed any convincing to return to the competition, Johnny Bananas responded:

"It's funny 'coz it's like you think the more you do, the easier they get. It never gets easier. Never gets easier. In fact, I think it gets a little more difficult. Because now, I mean, when I was younger and I lived a very...a more chaotic life. 'Coz I can't say I have a lot of stability in my life."

In his recent interview with Us Weekly, Johnny Bananas was asked about getting back to the show. He faced the question of whether he needed any convincing about returning to the show.

In response, Johnny talked about mental, physical, and emotional anguish:

"It's more me convincing myself that I'm ready, to you know, check back in and endure all the mental anguish and physical anguish and emotional anguish that it takes to go through a season of The Challenge."

Further, he stated that instead of getting easier, it gets a "little more" difficult.

He reflected on the time when he was younger and lived a "more chaotic life."

"But when I lived a more chaotic existence when I was younger, and I didn't necessarily need any sort of like structure or like routine or rhythm in my life, it didn't really bother me. But when I'm home, when I'm not filming, when I'm kind of just doing my real life thing, I have a very structured existence," added Johnny.

Opening up about being on the show and going through various challenges, he mentioned sleeping in a bunk bed, eating catering food, and more.

Johnny also talked about putting his mind to the "extreme" during the competition. He referred to that experience as being "isolated" from the outside world.

The Challenge star also mentioned that he owns a boxing studio in South Florida. He added that he trains on a daily basis. It was because that was his business, and he was the "face" of the place. Hence, he needed to stay in shape for that.

"If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready."

Johnny mentioned that he credited The Challenge for keeping him in shape. Referring to his age, it said he had to "put twice as much work" to get the same output compared to before.
