Squid Game Season 3 might be one of the most anticipated Netflix series right now, which will premiere on June 27, 2025. It would be the last time we see Lee Jung-jae’s Seong Gi-hun play the Squid Game and either end it for good or die trying.

As continuation of season 2, Squid Game Season 3 will further depict the players who survived at the end of season 2, play for the prize money while also surviving the brutal games, one last time. The makers have been keeping the fans on their toes by releasing teasers and posters, hinting at the new and deadly games that will be portrayed in the final season. One of those hints was displayed in the new poster that released recently.

The poster shows Gi-hun and some players at the front while some other players are at the back at some height, near the doors. These doors and the height suggest that the last game might involve heights, introducing another fearful situation for the players.

More on this in our story.

Squid Game Season 3 hints at another deadly game in new posters

As we know, trailers, posters, and teasers are being effectively used in hinting at the new games that Squid Game season 3 would show the players participating in. From monkey bars to Dongdaemun, there are several theories about the new games based on the teasers and posters.

And with the new poster, it has now added another game involving heights, making it more difficult for the players to survive, and especially difficult for Gi-hun, who has been challenging Front Man, Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun) but finds it difficult to convince the other people to help him end the game. The poster depicts several doors, which open at dead ends, hinting at the sudden fall that might kill the players.

Other than the new poster, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk also teased about the upcoming games, confirming the use of height. While talking to EW, he said:

"In season 1, we had lots of games like Tug of War that really utilized height and the fear that this height gives, but in the case of season 2, we didn't have that element."

He continued:

"That is why in season 3, I decided to introduce games that could really infuse fear in people with sheer height."

After confirming the height element, he also teased about the character arcs of Gi-hun and Im Si-wan’s Lee Myung-gi, who is said to be going through a major development in his character arc. Furthermore, he also talked about Kim Jun-hee’s (Jo Yu-ri) baby playing a crucial part in the final season.

Although, it is not yet revealed what the game would be, but as shared by the creator, it will definitely introduce the height element to increase the difficulty level.

Season 2 ended on a grim note after Gi-hun and the players who supported him were ambushed by pink soldiers and also killed several of them, including Gi-hun’s friend, Park Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan). Later, Gi-hun’s return to the game was teased in a trailer when the soldiers carried him to the players' room in a coffin, sparking more curiosity for the final season.

Other than Gi-hun, Myung-gi and Jun-hee, Kang Ha-neul’s Kang Dae-ho, Park Sung-hoon’s Cho Hyun-ju, Yang Dong-geun’s Park Yong-sik, and his mother Jang Geum-ja (Kang Ae-shim), among others, have survived in season 2. Squid Game season 3 will reveal their fate and depict whether and how many of the players get to survive in a game where the true nature of people is revealed in the extreme situations created by the game.
