Adults Season 2 confirmed: FX officially greenlights another installment of the comedy series

Adults Season 2 is officially in the works at FX. The comedy series follows a group of five friends who start living together. Their co-living situation leads to some funny moments and a lot of chaos.

The show has been created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw. It premiered on FX and Hulu in May 2025 and received a positive response from critics and viewers. The success of the series has led to its renewal for Season 2.

The show stars Malik Elassal, Jack Innanen, Owen Thiele, Amita Rao, and Lucy Freyer in the lead roles. All the main cast members are returning to the show for the second chapter.

Adults Season 2 confirmed by FX

FX confirmed the development of Adults Season 2 on October 30, 2025. The renewal comes more than four months after the first season finished its run on the linear FX channel. The announcement was made with a special video featuring the main cast members.

At the same time, Executive Vice President for Development at FX Entertainment, Kate Lambert, released an official statement praising the cast and crew of the series and said:

"Ben and Rebecca are incredibly talented writers, and they have expertly and hilariously captured the experience of being a young adult in today’s world. The entire cast — Malik, Lucy, Jack, Amita and Owen — is exceptional in bringing it to life in a way that has truly connected with its audience.”

Adults originally premiered with its eight episodes on Hulu on May 28, 2025. On FX, the episodes were released weekly. The show chronicles the lives of five friends, Billie, Samir, Issa, Anton, and Paul. They live together in Samir’s home and face the challenges of their lives with the help of each other.

The show has also been touted as a Gen Z version of Friends and has acquired a dedicated fan following since its premiere. The official synopsis of the series reads:

"Adults follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither ‘good’ nor ‘people’ yet. Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa and Anton are five friends crashing together in Samir’s childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes."

The show features Lucy Freyer as Billie Schaeffer, Malik Elassal as Samir Rahman, Amita Rao as Issa, Owen Thiele as Anton Evans, and Jack Innanen as Paul Baker. The first season also featured recurring appearances by Charlie Cox, who played Andrew / Mr. Teacher. It has not been revealed whether Cox will return for the second season.
