Cross Season 2: Prime Video reveals when the detective drama returns and teases what’s next

Cross Season 2 is all set to bring some nail-biting, suspenseful moments to the screen. Prime Video recently revealed the action-packed teaser of the upcoming season of the hit detective drama series. Season 2 of the series will premiere on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, on the streaming platform with three episodes. New episodes will air weekly with the finale slated to premiere on March 18, 2026.

Cross on Prime Video follows the story of D.C. homicide detective Alex Cross, who is on the hunt for dangerous killers. However, things take a turn when his past comes back to haunt him, putting his career and family at risk. At New York Comic Con, the release date and teaser for Season 2 were unveiled to fans. The upcoming season will see Cross chasing a vigilante who is hunting down wealthy individuals who are suspected of fraudulent activities.

The teaser for Cross Season 2 opens with the haunting song "Some of Us Are Brave" by Danielle Ponder in the background as Detective Alex Cross (played by Aldis Hodge) is seen walking through a mysterious facility suspiciously. The opening line ‘this begins and ends with me’ sets the tone for the upcoming season.

The teaser trailer then moves to action-packed scenes, introducing the new cast member, Matthew Lillard. We also see a glimpse of Samantha Walkes as Elle Monteiro, who asks Alex to stay alive. This season will introduce Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham in new roles. Ben Watkins also joins the cast and makes a brief appearance in the teaser.

The series is based on the Alex Cross books by James Patterson. The show is written and created by Ben Watkins. The series first premiered on Prime Video in November 2024 and instantly became one of the most-watched streaming shows on the platform. The series drew about 40 million global audience in the first 20 days. It is produced by Amazon, MGM Studios, and Paramount Television Studios. Season 1 holds a 76 % critics rating and a 64% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes currently.

Cross Season 2 will see the regular cast reprising their roles, including Samantha Walkes, Isaiah Mustafa, Melody Hurd, Juanita Jennings, Johnny Ray Gill, Caleb Elijah, and Alona Tal. Hodge, who plays the titular role, also serves as executive producer of the show, along with J. David Shanks, Sam Ernst, Craig Siebels, Jim Dunn, Owen Shiflett, Aiyana White, James Patterson, Patrick Santa, and Bill Robinson.
