In a recent TikTok video, the All the Queen's Men creator and executive producer, Christian Keyes, talked about the BET+ series’ Season 4 Part 2 trailer and its fictional universe.

The actor claimed that the studio and network didn’t notify him about the release of the promo, as he found out about it through the internet. Christian Keyes called the network and studio’s actions “dismissive and disrespectful." Apart from accusing BET of mistreatment, Keyes also talked about the on-set behavior of some people. He alleged,

“In the prequel and sequel space, unfortunately, there are going to be a few personnel changes. You know, sometimes it happens unfortunately, where some people get entitled or arrogant and unprofessional and, you know, start coming to work high and inebriated on a regular basis…”

He further claimed that such disrespectful behavior will be addressed and added,

“There will be some personnel changes, but the show will go on.”

For the unversed, Tyler Perry is also an executive producer on the BET+ series, like Christian Keyes. On top of that, The Six Triple Eight writer-director is well-known for his influence on the network’s multiple projects. According to the AP, the Mabel "Madea" Simmons creator/actor owns a minority stake in BET+ through his namesake production house, Tyler Perry Studios.

While the streaming platform is a “joint venture” of Paramount Global and Tyler Perry Studios, the Diary of a Mad Black Woman actor does not own BET Media Group.

According to Variety, the media mogul was eyeing buying a majority stake in the network’s ownership in March 2023. By August, Paramount Global canceled the sale of BET, reportedly disappointing Tyler Perry, per the New York Post.

The House of Payne star described the move as “disrespectful” during the Bloomberg Equality Summit in October 2023, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Tyler Perry had reportedly dropped the future plans of purchasing the network. Despite the sale not going through, Perry still has a contract with BET Media Group. The network and the media executive have extended their multi-year deal until 2028.

Christian Keyes will not produce the All the Queen’s Men spin-off with BET following mistreatment

As mentioned, The Boys actor shared his side of the story of alleged mistreatment from the Black Entertainment Television network. Keyes said in the video,

“It is disappointing to continuously find out that your show is coming back on the internet, instead of finding out from the network, and I have mentioned that in the previous seasons and it is still happening, or to see the trailer online and have to go search for the trailer so I can try to download the trailer for the hit show that I created for this studio, and this network.”

He added,

“It does feel dismissive and disrespectful when it continues to happen, and you’ve addressed it, and it still happens.”

Christian Keyes stated that he would not be producing the spin-off of the show with BET due to the mistreatment. He mentioned talking to “amazing people” from other streaming platforms to choose the fate of the All the Queen’s Men universe,

“It’s not up to the studio, it’s not up to the network, it’s up to me, thankfully. So, I will let you guys know where… Where it’s gonna end up.”

Christian Keyes further alleged that BET didn’t credit him as the creator for the second season,

“Whether you noticed or not, Season 2, my ‘Created By’ credit was removed. And I asked to get it back, and they said ‘No!’”

The creator claimed that he had to seek assistance from the WGA (Writers Guild of America) to sort the dispute out and get the credit back. Christian Keyes asserted that “these things gotta change,” reiterating that he’ll be producing new All the Queen’s Men projects with a platform other than BET+.
