The highly anticipated Paramount + Showtime's crime drama series, Dexter: Resurrection, is almost here! Ahead of its two-episode premiere, scheduled for July 11, 2025, the streaming platform released an intense trailer during a special presentation at CCXP in Mexico City.
Dexter: Resurrection follows the aftermath of the events of Dexter: New Blood. The newly-released trailer gives us a sneak peek of the upcoming series. Dexter, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, survives after being shot by his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott). He finally awakens from a coma and utters,
"Somebody once told me that you have to go through hell to achieve resurrection."
The search for his son leads him to New York City, where the past quickly catches up and dangers multiply. As he drives to New York City, he murmurs to himself,
"What better place to hide?"
The camera pans towards an aerial view of New York City as we see Dexter in a cab. The production is currently underway in NYC, which serves as both a setting and a character in the trailer. The dense, towering environment of New York marks a shift from the sun-soaked Miami setting. Dexter remarks "Only in New York," in the trailer, signals the city's unpredictability and the upcoming chaos set to unfold.

The summary, as per IMDb, reads,
"After surviving a gunshot from his son Harrison, Dexter wakes from a coma to find him missing. He searches NYC to reconcile, but Batista's arrival brings past troubles. Father and son must face their darkness together to escape."
The trailer teases a gritty and high-stakes continuation of the franchise with Dexter navigating the chaos of Manhattan, along with fighting his dark past. After Dexter awakens from coma, his former colleague, Angel Batista, confronts him about his suspicion of Dexter being the infamous Bay Harbour Butcher. Dexter wastes no time and escapes the hospital to the bustling New York City.
Dexter soon learns that he's not the only one hiding a secret. The trailer introduces a group of new characters, including Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Emilia Suarez, Dominic Fumusa, and David Dastmalchian. Along with them, the viewers also see Uma Thurman as Charley, a former special ops agent and head of security, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, a philanthropic mogul.
Among the recurring faces, the viewers will also see James Remar, who will reprise his role as Harry Morgan, Dexter's late father and omnipresent conscience.
