"The bakers bring the holiday heat with bold ginger bakes; it's time for a holiday flavor getaway as the remaining contestants bake with tropical fruits from around the world."

Next Level Baker Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: Bakers go through two interesting challenges

The Next Level Baker Season 1 Episode 2, titled This Ain’t Snow Joke, featured the remaining eight bakers moving forward in the competition. For the first challenge, participants had to bake using ginger. For each part of the kitchen, bakers chose creative items.

The Top kitchen had Stefanie, Aubrey, Chloe, and Candace. The Middle kitchen featured Zoha, Jeff, and Gordon. For the Basement kitchen, professional bakers Chad and Nikki from social media and Carla were there. Bakers had 30 seconds to choose their ingredients. Nikki couldn’t get what she had planned and was only able to get a ginger ale.

Zoha got many ingredients to prepare her bakes. While Nikki got emotional, Carla helped her get over it. Carla also helped her throughout the challenge. After Aubrey’s cakes were done too fast, she had to bake them one more time.

Bakers were given a chance to write down one ingredient they needed for their dishes. Soon, Santa delivered the desired ingredients. Chloe accidentally used Stefanie’s whipped cream, so the latter had to make it again. Soon, the judges tasted the baked dishes and shared their views. Basement kitchen’s Chad received good reviews for his cake. Nikki’s cake was also buttery and rich in flavors.

From the Middle kitchen, Zoha’s bakes received applause from the judges. Later, the judges discussed how each of the bakers’ dishes had been.

Next Level Baker‘s Zoha and Chad’s dishes were among the top ones. Chloe, Stefanie from the Basement kitchen, and the Middle kitchen’s Jeff, Nikki, and Deirdra’s dishes were also among the judges’ discussions. All of them came under the bottom three, with Aubrey getting eliminated.

Next Level Baker Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: Second challenge features tropical fruits

For the second challenge of the latest episode, bakers were assigned tropical fruits to be used in their bakes. They were also assigned different floors to work. For this challenge, Gordon Ramsay was in the Basement kitchen. On the other hand, Candace was in the Middle kitchen, with Carla in the Top kitchen.

Once again, Nikki faced issues with the ingredients. She merely got guava, which she had no experience baking with. She worked on making mini bundt cakes.

Next Level Baker‘s Chef Gordon was not happy with the Basement kitchen’s performance. Soon, he saw carolers arriving, which made him even more upset. Soon, the challenge ended, and the bakers’ dishes were tasted by the judges.

Chloe’s dish was appreciated by the judges. Jeff’s tart turned out to be delicious. Zoha’s dish was applauded, but Chad’s frosting didn’t turn out the way he expected it to be.

After the second challenge, judges eliminated Chad from the show. Since he was eliminated, Next Level Baker had no professional bakers among the participants.
