Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premiered with its first two episodes on Hulu on May 21, 2025, and saw the protagonist Masha Dmitrichenko leave America behind and go to the Alps. Despite the success she had found in America, she was also entangled in a number of subpoenas and there were a number of federal investigations against her.
Naturally, her best course of action was to flee. Thus, she headed to Zauberwald, a wellness retreat in the Alps, run by Masha’s friend Helen. As Masha gets ready to experiment her drugs and methods of therapy on the new guests coming to the retreat, let us now explore in detail what happened in Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2.

Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premiere episodes reveal Masha’s old connection to Zauberwald
When Masha is called at Zauberwald by Helen, the woman who runs the place, it is also revealed that Masha herself had ended up there after losing her daughter. She was lost back then but with the drugs that Helen introduced her to, she could see her daughter Tatiana, which proved helpful.
Masha then started experimenting with those drugs herself, which paved the way for the kind of treatment she offers in the present day. Moreover, previously, she had found solace when she could see Tatiana but now, it seems more like torture as she feels she is haunted by the ghost of her little girl who is no more there.
As Masha gets ready to experiment with her new drugs at the retreat, she is introduced to Martin, who is a pharmacologist by profession and shares the same area of expertise as Masha.
While his methods are more scientific, it seems that the two can work together on the guests that are going to come to the retreat. Masha is the one who chooses the guests, as she makes sure that she brings in people who will help each other in their journey of healing.
A bunch of new people come to Zauberwald in Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premiere episodes
As the new guests start coming to Zauberwald, it is revealed that all of them have very different backgrounds and problems. Imogen and Brian are to arrive first as Imogen has come to seek help regarding her bad relationship with her mother, Victoria, who arrives there with Mateo, her lover.
Brain, on the other hand, is shown to have severe anger issues, for which his career as a child show host has gone down the drain and therefore, he has come to the retreat.
Then there is Peter Sharpe, who is the son of David Sharpe, who is revealed to be a big shot. Unfortunately, David does not arrive on the same day as everyone else and as a result, the whole group has to wait for a full day for the treatments to begin. The last two members to join the group are Tina and Wolfie.
Tina is suffering from a musical block and Wolfie has brought her to the retreat to see if Masha’s unconventional ways can help her girlfriend get back to music.
As all the guests come and gradually start to bond with each other after an initial rough start, David Sharpe finally arrives the next day. It is then revealed that Masha already knows David Sharpe. The two kiss and it seems that Masha has her own reasons to remain hell bent on not starting the therapy before David joined the group.
