Nine Puzzles Episodes 1-6 dropped on Disney+ on May 21, 2025, and tell the story of how Yoon I-Na, a suspect in her uncle's murder from 10 years ago, is back on the police's radar after similar murders start occurring again. However, this time, she is participating in the investigation.

The plot of Nine Puzzles is intense, and as the next three episodes are set to drop on May 28, 2025, now is a good time for a quick recap of episodes 1-6.

The following article contains spoilers.

Yoon I-Na had found her uncle’s dead boy in Nine Puzzles

At the very beginning, Nize Puzzles establishes the crucial backstory of Yoon I-Na, which sets the tone for the narrative. At the age of 17, she discovers her uncle's body at home on a rainy night. With an awl's stab on his neck, he appeared to have been murdered. Another unique element about the murder was the puzzle piece he killer placed, which Yoon I-Na found beside the dead body.

Since I-Na found the body and was the only witness to the crime scene, she ended up being the primary suspect. I-Na claimed to have no recollection of the night, but Detective Han-saem didn't believe her. Although due to a lack of evidence, the case is closed and remained unsolved, the detective never stops suspecting Yoon I-Na.

Yoon I-Na joins the law enforcement in Nine Puzzles

Previously accused of killing her uncle, Yoon I-Na ironically joins the Seoul Police as a profiler in Nine Puzzles. She encounters Han-Saem once again, after Mi-young, a bar owner, is killed with a murder pattern similar to that of Yoon I-Na’s uncle. The presence of a puzzle piece beside Mi-young’s body is what primarily connects the two cases, despite the murders taking place years apart.

Han-Saem is still doubtful of Yoon I-Na, but she insists on the correlation between the two cases and asserts that the killer is the same. Since she's part of the Seoul Police, as a profiler, she starts investigating and looking for clues based on the puzzle pieces that the murderer leaves behind.

As the story progresses in Nine Puzzles, Yoon I-Na becomes an official part of Han-seam’s crew. With the killer's consistent pattern in mind, she is determined to solve the case. Han-saem, on the other hand, conducts solo investigations and discovers disturbing details about the murder of Mi-young.

More bodies and clues pile up as the narrative advances. Yoon I-Na investigates each puzzle piece that inevitably hints at something related to the victims and ends up at an amusement park that is no longer in use. As she connects all the puzzle pieces, it is revealed, rather insinuated, that the mystery of the killer and the puzzles are all associated with her past.

The killer is yet to be revealed, as I-Na finds herself caught up in the madness of murder and violence.
