What happened in Episode 9 of Nine Puzzles?

In the previous set of episodes, I-na staged her own arrest to lure the real puzzle killer in and created a suspect list. The most prominent person in the list ends up being Captain Yang Jeon-ho, who becomes one of the primary suspects. In Episode 9, he surprisingly confesses to being the puzzle killer and asks them to hold a press conference where he would confess everything.

However, Han-saem (Son Suk-ku) doubts his confession, given the strong alibis he had in the course of all the murders. They finally deduce that he is trying to save the real killer and let him go. As he leaves, Choi San follows him to the field where Mayor Kim Mo-il and hunter Kwon Sang-beom are seen hunting. Yang notices the puzzle killer trying to aim at Kwon and fires his gun in the air for distraction, which leads Kwon to aim and fire at him.

Han-saem reaches the field too late and notices a dying Yang, who only utters two words: Shindong and Seo-jin. He also confesses to Han-saem that all the people who died were not good human beings, and he might have triggered the killings, so he is at fault.

From episode 9, it is clear that the killer is linked with the orphanage and the children whom Yang used to care about.

What will happen in Episodes 10 and 11 of Nine Puzzles?

With Kwon now dead, there are only two puzzles left in the Nine Puzzles. In the previous episode, I-na and Han-saem discover that the names Yang uttered before dying are linked to a construction company that was redeveloping the One City.

It all started with the construction company and is linked to the redevelopment project and the orphaned kids, who might have lost their families during that tragedy. This also links Yang Jeon-ho to it. In the final episodes, the mystery behind the killer and their connection with Yang will be revealed, resulting in I-na finding out about who killed her Uncle, all those years ago.
