"No one noticed at all": James Gunn addresses Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6's major Nazi revelation 

DCU fans have always suspected that there was something wrong/off about the alternate Earth in James Gunn's Peacemaker Season 2. However, all it took was Emilia Harcourt to realise how off it was, to reveal the horrifying truth behind it.

The recently released Episode 6 titled Ignorance is Chris finally revealed the shady workings of this alternate Earth.

While Harcourt immediately commented on the alt-Earth's suspiciously White population, Peacemaker finally noticed a key detail about Earth X. As our helmet-wearing hero takes a closer look at the American flags lining the alt-A.R.G.U.S.'s desk, he makes the Earth-shattering (pun intended) reveal that the American flags feature a swastika instead of stars.

With this revelation, the cat was officially out of the bag for James Gunn's Earth X in Peacemaker Season 2: N*zi Germany won WWII in alt-Earth, a statement that is so chilling even in writing.

While this shocking truth came to light in Episode 6, Earth X was always populated by White people, but the fans failed to notice it.

In an interview with Variety, James Gunn revealed this twist as:

“No one noticed at all. And that was people of color, too, by the way. It wasn’t just, you know, the whites.”

James Gunn breaks down the major twist in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6

James Gunn cooked with that major N*zi revelation in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6. Staying true to the episode's title, Ignorance Is Chris, as our protagonist failed to notice that Earth X is only populated by White people, even after making several trips to this alternate universe.

However, Harcourt was much more observational than Chris and immediately discovered Earth X's horrible truth. While Chris is not a racist, he conveniently ignores this key detail about Earth X in Peacemaker Season 2, like many of the show's fans. Gunn further revealed how Chris has a sort of 'narcissistic tendency' which makes him immune and almost blind to his surroundings. However, Harcourt catches onto this truth immediately.

Discussing Harcourt's observational skills, James Gunn further added:

''Whereas Harcourt, who’s more attentive to details, and probably more sensitive to that sort of thing anyway, notices the minute she’s out in public. She’s looking around, going, “What the f*ck?”

The 11th Street kids are confronted with the horrors of Earth X when Adebayo decides to explore one of the neighbourhoods in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6. As Adebayo roams on the street, people stare at her in shock and disgust. As a person of colour, she feels alien amongst an all-White population, until Keith screams, “One got out! A Black!” and she is chased by a mob of N*zi Americans.

With this truth out, the upcoming episode of Peacemaker Season 2 will continue to explore the horrors of this alternate reality, as James Gunn teased:

''And people are also going to find out next episode, that Earth X is not simplistic. If we were raised in Nazi world and accepted that as being OK, how would you think? We get a little bit more of that with specific characters next episode.''

Now that Emilia Harcourt, Adebayo, Economus, and Vigilante have landed on this Earth X to take their Peacemaker home, it would be interesting to see how they will react to their current situation and what more surprises await them in N*zi America.
