After winning hearts with season 1, Nobody Wants This Season 2 is set to premiere in October 2025. The rom-com follows the story of Kristen Bell’s Joanne and Adam Brody’s Noah, the rabbi.

Who is Leighton Meester playing in Nobody Wants This Season 2? Details explored

Season 1 of the Netflix series ended with so many questions. While Noah and Joanne were still together and smitten by each other, there were still questions lingering about whether Joanna would convert and Noah’s choice between love and his job as the head rabbi. Other than that, they might also face several other obstacles in their budding relationships in Nobody Wants This Season 2, with new characters appearing.

One of those new characters is Leighton Meester, who will play the role of Abby, a mom influencer, and is also a frenemy of Bell’s Joanna from middle school. Meester, who appeared as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, might be the perfect choice to play a frenemy from high school, as the viewers loved her as Blair, who had a similar character arc.

The anticipation increased with the showrunner Jenni Konner’s comments on how Meester’s role was expanded due to her excellent comedic timing, which surprised many. It prompted the writers to incorporate a scene in Season 2 with the real-life couple.

"I did not anticipate how funny she would be. She’s really good at improv—everything feels really weird, and you don’t see it coming. And seeing her and Adam in a scene together was so much fun."
