“Not dissimilar to my experience”: Palm Royale star Kaia Gerber talks about Mitzi’s journey of self-discovery in Season 2

Apple TV premiered Palm Royale Season 2 on November 12, 2025, returning with the complicated characters after the heartbreaking revelation about Mitzi that affected her friendship with Maxine. In Season 1, Kaia Gerber's character was seen in awe of the rich and socialite crowd of Palm Beach, but later sees how they are not much different and are not as content as she thought they would be.

While talking to USA Today, the model and actress shared that Palm Royale Season 2 will explore more about her character, as this season will be about her discovering herself and her identity as a young woman. She further compared Mitzi's experiences in Season 2 with herself and found no dissimilarity in them and stated:

"It's not dissimilar to my experience as a young woman and finding my voice and my identity on my own."

Palm Royale Season 2: Kaia Gerber talks about Mitzi's character arc in the latest season

In Season 1, Mitzi and Kristen Wiig's Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons, who was new to the socialite scene of Palm Beach, became friends. As the series progressed, they became closer and even shared information about the world and how to navigate Palm Beach with each other.

However, it was the shocking finale of Season 1 where Maxine found out about Mitzi's betrayal. At the end, Carol Burnett's character, Norma, forced Mitzi to reveal to Maxine that she was pregnant, in order to destroy Maxine and her husband, Douglas's life. Initially, Maxine thinks that the child was Leslie Bibb's character, Dinah's husband, Perry Donahue's, and tries to provide support for the young woman.

However, she is devastated in the end when she learns that it was not Perry's but Douglas's child and that Mitzi was having an affair with her husband. Palm Royale Season 2 is going to pick up from here and depict whether Mitzi and Maxine will be able to save their friendship after this or not.

On the other hand, Season 2 is also going to be about personal growth for Mitzi, as shared by actress Kaia Gerber. Gerber shared that, in the latest season, Mitzi will question her identity and how she will define herself without the older men who have been defining her life.

To add to her previous comment, Gerber revealed what Palm Royale Season 2 for Mitzi would be about and shared:

"Finding her independence, finding her voice as a young woman who often has been defined by men, by older men. That's a really key theme for Mitzi this season is like, 'Who am I without these men?' And that's something that I was really excited to explore with her."

With so much more to explore in the lives of the characters of Palm Beach, Palm Royale Season 2 returns with a star-studded ensemble cast which includes Carol Burnett, Kristen Wiig, Josh Lucas, Ricky Martin, Laura Dern, Leslie Bibb, Alislison Janney, Amber Chardae Robinson, Kaia Gerber, among numerous others.
