Oh My Ghost Clients episode 5 premiered on June 13, 2025, where Mu-jin met his new ghost client. Just like the previous episode, Mu-jin finds himself with Bo-Sal/Bodhisattva, with whom he again argues before coming back to Earth.
In this episode, Mu-jin goes back to his parents' home and finds his next ghost client there, who happens to be his mother's co-worker, Kim Yeong-suk. He finds out that Yeong-suk's death might not be just because she was old, but is linked to the stressful tests that the University makes the custodians take.
With Hui-joo and Gyeon-u, Mu-jin finds out more about the corruption that goes on in the University to force the custodians to quit on their own.

Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 5 recap: Mu-jin meets his family
In episode 5 of Oh My Ghost Clients, Mu-jin is called by his father to come home and talk to his mother, as he suspects her of having an affair. He meets his older brother, his mother, and his next client.
He tries to talk to her, but she doesn’t tell him anything, and he has to ask his mother. She tells him her name is Yeong-sook, and she was the one who found him dead at her home. His mother also told him that Yeong-sook died of a heart attack.
The next morning, he follows his mother after his father tells him to and discovers that she had been dressing up nicely due to the University forcing them to, as when they don’t comply, they are humiliated. As he further follows, he finds out about the difficult Job Knowledge Test that they are to pass to keep their jobs. He sees Yeong-sook sitting next to him and almost having a panic attack. She shows him her memory of the test when she was humiliated for not knowing the answers.
Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 5 recap: Mu-jin learns about Yeong-sook’s story
As he confronts his mother about her job, she confesses that it's embarrassing to discuss it. She later tells him how stressful it was for Yeong-sook as she used to study hard. While bringing huge bags of trash down the multi-storey building, while cleaning, and even in the bathroom, Yeong-sook used to study hard.
However, due to old age and not having gone to school for long, she finds it difficult to retain. Mu-jin’s mother also tells him that she found Yeong-sook dead on her desk while studying. She also tells him how traumatic it was and how traumatic taking the tests is for all of them, as all her co-workers are old now.
Oh My Ghost Clients Episode 5 recap: The trio meets the officials at the University
In episode 5 of Oh My Ghost Clients, Mu-jin meets Hui-ju and Gyeon-u to discuss the case, where he tells them that the University officials are doing this to humiliate them and want them to quit their jobs rather than firing them. It is their way of avoiding public scrutiny of firing older citizens from their jobs.
They then go to meet the man who takes the tests. He tells them that Yeong-sook died as she was already not well. She had ongoing health problems. As Mu-jin confronts him about the tests, the manager tells him that the tests are just part of their job training, and even the custodians are happy, as this makes them more educated and cultured as they work in a top University.
After his denial about the tests being difficult and to humiliate the custodians, Mu-jin and his companions talk to the custodians to find out more about their job difficulties and also the tests. Mu-jin later invites all of them for a treat and talks to them about their work, and tells them that whatever they are going through is not right, and they have a right to speak and can also refuse to appear for the tests. But some of them are happy doing what they do and don’t want to get involved to hamper their jobs, but Mu-jin’s mother stands up to talk about their unfair treatment and how the University looks down on them.
She tells them that they need to be treated better, as they are not ashamed of their work. Her speech encourages her co-workers, and they decide to go with Mu-jin’s plan to protest outside the University to get rid of the tests that they have to take.
At the end of this episode of Oh My Ghost Clients, the trio and the custodians protest outside the University, which provokes the officials to call the police, and even threaten them to fire them from their jobs. The police come and try to take Mu-jin with them while Hui-joo records everything. While the case doesn’t look easier this time, Mu-jin is determined to help his mother, Yeong-suk, and their co-workers from living a life where they are humiliated almost every day.
