After months of waiting, NBC has finally confirmed when its entire One Chicago lineup is coming back. Season 14 of Chicago Fire, Season 13 of Chicago P.D., and Season 11 of Chicago Med will all premiere on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, locking in their familiar Wednesday night schedule.
Fans who’ve followed these shows since the early 2010s know how big a deal this announcement is. Every season carries over personal and professional cliffhangers, and 2025 is expected to pick up right where things left off last spring.
Chicago Med will once again kick off the night at 8/7c, followed by Chicago Fire at 9/8c, and Chicago P.D. closing it out at 10/9c. Episodes will be available for streaming the next day on Peacock. With character arcs hanging in the balance across all three shows—especially with newcomers like Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) on Fire—NBC’s fall return plans couldn’t have dropped at a better time.
One Chicago: Chicago Fire, P.D. and Med plotlines pick up right where they left off

Now that the October 1 return date is confirmed, fans can start preparing for where each of the One Chicago shows is headed next. Starting with Chicago Fire, the addition of Dermot Mulroney as Chief Dom Pascal in Season 13 shook up Firehouse 51’s leadership structure.
His presence isn’t just temporary—he’s now expected to play a larger role as the house recovers from a turbulent finale that left several characters questioning their futures. With Severide still reeling from past decisions and Kidd balancing her promotion with the emotional weight of recent cases, Season 14 won’t waste time easing back in.
Chicago Med ended its last season with major shifts at Gaffney Medical Center. Dr. Sharon Goodwin announced that Dr. Lenox would be taking over as the sole chief of the ED, and that alone sets up a new workplace power dynamic.
On top of that, Dr. Archer’s personal health issues and tense relationship with Ripley remain unresolved. Maggie, who’s often the glue holding things together, was seen chasing a thief while trying to help a teen in labor—a moment that hinted her storyline might step outside the hospital walls more often this season.
Then there’s Chicago P.D., where the Intelligence Unit remains in flux. With Upton exiting after dealing with emotional fallout and Voight’s decisions continuing to blur lines between justice and personal vendettas, Season 13 has the potential to split the unit in more ways than one. There’s also lingering tension about the team’s future, with new hires possibly joining the mix.
NBC’s choice to group the premieres on the same night maintains the long-standing block fans call “One Chicago Wednesdays.” It’s not just convenient scheduling—it’s an ecosystem where crossover events, phone calls across departments, and citywide emergencies feel organic.

Fans will once again be able to follow overlapping cases in real time, like when a multi-car pileup stretches from Fire to Med to P.D. without skipping a beat. With past crossovers involving hostage crises, mass shootings, and infectious outbreaks, the writers are known for connecting arcs that feel realistic and deeply personal.
All three shows will also be available for streaming on Peacock the day after they air. That makes it easier for fans to stay caught up, especially since the franchise often drops key plot points without warning. Whether it’s a medical fraud storyline, a shocking betrayal inside the firehouse, or an officer going rogue, these shows move fast—and Fall 2025 won’t be any different.
