Series fans are rejoicing as Netflix is ramping up for the release of One Piece Season 2 in 2026. More fun awaits rip-roaring adventures, deadlier foes, and new islands to visit in the next season in Luffy’s chase for the treasure of all treasures.

Everything We Know About Season 2 of One Piece

One Piece Season 2 will see Luffy and his band of guys traverse the famed wild seas known as the Grand Line, a volatile body of water filled with peril, magic, and crazed storms. The season covers many classic story arcs and places such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island.

According to Netflix, the synopsis of Chapter 2 reads:

“As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

The new season of One Piece is also set to introduce Miss All-Sunday, Miss Wednesday, Captain Smoker, and Brogy, alongside the stunning visuals of Reverse Mountain, the entrance to the Grand Line. The elderly Drum Island doctor Kureha is making her live-action debut, played by Katey Sagal. Describing her character, Netflix’s co-showrunner Matt Owens told Tudum:

“When the Season 2 writers’ room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season.”

The series is expected to grow in intensity, offering more fierce quests for the Straw Hat Pirates.

The following actors return from Season 1: Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar as Monkey D. Additionally, Netflix has revealed nearly two dozen new members of the cast, including Mikaela Hoover, Rigo Sanchez, Yonda Thomas, James Hiroyuki Liao, Sophia Anne Caruso, Mark Penwill, and Anton David Jeftha.

Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, described the experience, saying:

“Yeah, I mean, they built a whale! I didn’t really know how we were going to do that, but I kind of just assumed there would be something to interact with and then they’d green screen the rest, but no! They had the whole stomach lined in, and the stomach acid at the bottom. It had shipwrecks inside the whale, and it was way bigger than the size of a normal whale; it was the size of a monster, dinosaur whale — like a megalodon whale. Huge whale.”

One Piece Season 2 was filmed in South Africa, and cast members came from Mexico, Japan, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas to film their scenes.

The series has already been renewed for a third season, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the upcoming season. With One Piece season 2 scheduled to be released on Netflix in 2026, fans can look forward to another exciting chapter in the Straw Hat Pirates’ legendary voyage.
