Maxine Simmons faces Tom's questions following Norma's disappearance

In Palm Royale Season 2 Episode 4, Maxine is asked questions by Tom about Norma's disappearance. Though the authorities haven't found any useful evidence against her that frames her as a prime suspect, Tom detects the firing before Norma says:
"Don’t kill me, Maxine."
This led him to believe that Maxine is the one who killed Norma. However, with Norma now hiding and her body still missing, Maxine's not completely in the clear yet from Tom's eyes. A lawyer soon comes to help Maxine, and she is then seen in Evelyn's house. Soon, Maxine finds out that the bags of money have been delivered to Liverpool, which makes her realize that Norma escaped, took the money, and is now free.
After searching everywhere through calls, Maxine realizes Norma tricked them with her name. Norma, in real life, is Agnes. She quickly goes to Virginia. However, Norma is later found in Switzerland.
On the other hand, Norma is declared dead after the Ouija board reveals the truth, and Mary finally signs for Evelyn and Maxine. However, Norma is dead anyway, as Agnes took her identity, so the board didn't lie, to be exact.
Not long, as by the end of the episode, Maxine comes to know about Agnes through a ring.
Evelyn threatens Sidonius over Norma's disappearance

In Episode 4, Evelyn, a character played by Allison Janney, tries to take control of the Palm Royale, asking for the stakes from Sidonius. However, to do so, she needs the approval from the Dellacortes, Davidsouls, and Donahues.
In the process, she also threatens him, letting him know that she knows that he eventually helped Norma in her faking her disappearance and using it as pressure on him, even sending Norma the money bags. She also reveals that the lead character, Maxine, is secretly helping her.
Later, Evelyn shows up at the house, hosted by Dinah, to get the signatures she needs. But they refuse to sign unless they also get a say in controlling the Palm.
There's still hope for Evelyn after her husband helps her out as she uses Dinah's love letters to convince Perry to sign. Later, Evelyn gets Dinah to sign the letters too.
Douglas tries to claim Norma's home in Palm Royale Season 2 Episode 4
While Maxine knows that Norma is not dead and Robert is worrying about Norma knowing her truth and identity, for Douglas, Norma's disappearance has come as an advantage. In Episode 4, Douglas thinks Norma's gone for good and wants to officially call her dead in order to claim the house ownership.
The previous season, viewers saw Douglas, Maxine's husband, speaking to Maxine about the plans of opening a nightclub with Pinky, and she finally agreed to the same. At the beginning of season 2, we see how Pinky's actions leave Douglas in financial trouble. Douglas tries to use Norma's disappearance as an opportunity to get out of the situation by using Norma's house. Little does he realize, the house actually goes to Robert.
Later, in the episode, Robert reveals the news to Norma that he will get Norma's house, and Maxine starts picking up hints that Robert and Tom are spending time together after Robert asks her to leave. Maxine, dealing with Tom's secret family, which Tom hasn't revealed yet, keeps his wife in the dark without telling her the complete truth about Tom.
Meanwhile, Mitzi shows her true colors to Douglas, and just as he steps out, he gets kidnapped.
