It seems that good times are ahead for Marvel fans as the franchise’s most secretive project yet, the WandaVision spin-off, Vision Quest, just received a major update about its filming.

According to a report in Collider, the update has come from Will Hughes-Jones, the production designer, who mentioned that filming of the show will be wrapping up next month. While he did not take the name of Vision Quest, in all probability, he was talking about that project.

Terry Matalas, who serves as the showrunner for Vision Quest, mentioned on the The Sackhoff Show that following the events of WandaVision, this show will be

“following that character, and that character’s journey.”

The spin-off also marks the return of Paul Bettany as the titular character, though nothing about him will be the same as viewers are used to watching, since the synthezoid had undergone reprogramming before he had a rather philosophical awakening.

Vision Quest does not have a release date yet

As mentioned previously, Will Hughes-Jones’ update on the unnamed show, which in all probability is Vision Quest, has not received any concrete update about its release yet. However, if the filming is set to wrap up by next month, fans can expect the show to premiere sometime next year.

Given the trajectory the show will follow, this project is likely to become one of the most philosophical shows of Marvel yet. WandaVision also was not a typical superhero show, and the way it dealt with the whole concept of grief and love made it popular.

Now that Vision Quest is set to follow Vision after the events of WandaVision the theme is likely to be brooding and deep. Talking about the same and about the complexity that working with the Marvel canon can bring, Matalas said,

“There are so many different ways to tell a story that’s within canon.”

Besides Paul Bettany returning as Vision, the cast of Vision Quest also includes James Spader as Ultron, T’Nia Miller as Ultron’s wife Jocasta, Faran Tahir as Raza to name a few, It would be interesting to see Tahir come back to the MCU as Raza since he had not been a part of any Marvel project since Iron Man (2008).

With an intense storyline and the return of Vision, fans are now waiting for more concrete updates regarding the premiere of the show.

Vision Quest will stream on Disney+ upon its release.
