The official trailer for the show was released a few hours ago, and it is unlike any other CIA show fans have ever seen before.

The show features Emilia Clarke as Bea, and Haley Lu Richardson playing the character of the other widow, named Twila.
Emilia Clarke is all set to play the role of an undercover spy in the upcoming Peacock show, Ponies
Clarke, alongside Haley Lu Richardson, will play the character of one of two widows who tragically lost their husbands under mysterious circumstances during the Cold War. When the women first get to know each other, they discover that both their husbands worked with the CIA. Soon after, they learn that both their partners were on the same plane that met with a life-taking crash.
As they seek answers behind their husbands’ mysterious deaths, the women reach the CIA. Both parties come to the conclusion that the best way to get answers is for them to go undercover as spies. While the CIA initially wants the women to go undercover as secretaries, they refuse. Even in the trailer itself, we see Twila sliding a lit lighter across a countertop and setting a man on fire.
The trailer shows several intense scenes but also has a touch of dry humour that makes it an interesting watch.
The official synopsis for the show reads as follows:
"Two 'PONIES' ('persons of no interest' in intelligence speak) work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. That is, until their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives. Bea (Emilia Clarke) is an over-educated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants. Her cohort, Twila (Haley Lu Richardson), is a small-town girl who is as abrasive as she is fearless. Together, they work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows in the first place."
The spy thriller is already creating quite the buzz on social media, and fans are quite hyped for the show's arrival.
Ponies is set to release on January 15, 2026, and will be available for streaming on Peacock.
