As the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 gears up for its December release, major casting announcements were made regarding the third season. Key roles of the di Angelo Twins, Bianca (the older one) and Nico (the younger one), have been cast. It was reported that Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulos will play Bianca and Nico, respectively, in season 3, which is expected to begin filming soon.

Introduced in the third book, The Titan's Curse, Nico and Bianca are introduced as two new demigods in a boarding school in which a literal monster is their principal. Percy and the other protagonists try to rescue the twins from the monster. In this process, one of the protagonists goes missing, setting the stage for a challenging adventure for Percy.

However, the twins are not merely half-bloods; they are the children of the "Big Three".

The "Big Three" in Percy Jackson and the Olympians and their connection to the twins explained:

"The Big Three" in the Percy Jackson refers to the three big Greek Gods, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. While Zeus and Poseidon are respected, it is Hades who is generally misunderstood. Even Percy observes this in the first Percy Jackson and the Olympians book, The Lightning Thief. The third book even suggests that Hades might be better than Zeus and Poseidon, as he even has feelings for his mortal wife, Maria di Angelo.

With Maria, Hades fathers the di Angelo twins. Here's the twist, though. They were born decades before Percy's birth, and yet they are younger than him. This has to do with Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades' pact not to sire children. However, both Zeus and Poseidon broke that pact, while Hades had the twins before the pact.

They made this pact because of the prophecy that a spawn of The Big Three would decide the fate of Mount Olympus. Zeus tried to kill the twins with his lightning bolt, an attack that killed Maria, but Hades managed to save Bianca and Nico. To spare them of this painful memory, Hades ordered Alecto (who is a Fury) to bathe the twins in River Lethe, wiping their memory.

After doing so, the twins were taken to the Lotus Hotel and Casino, where they remained until the events of the third Percy Jackson and the Olympians book, The Titan's Curse, where Alecto, in another form, drove the twins to a boarding school 70 years later. But the twins are not aware that they have spent 70 years in the hotel, as time moves slowly within its confines.

We hear Nico in the sixth episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1:

In the sixth episode of the first season, "We Take a Zebra to Vegas", we see Grover, Annabeth, and Percy enter the Lotus Hotel and Casino, with knowledge that they will lose time there. There, they split up, and Grover encounters a family friend, a Satyr named Augustus.

As the two walk inside, we hear a small boy with a VR headset over his head (Nico) calling out for his sister (Bianca), who is also playing a game. We can even see the girl imitating the act of shooting an arrow, which is Bianca's weapon of choice after becoming one of Artemis' hunters.
