Apple TV+'s comedy series Platonic Season 2 is gearing up for its final week. Ahead of its finale, Platonic Season 2 Episode 8, "Young Darcy Mysteries," dropped on Wednesday, September 17. In this episode, we see Sylvia struggling both professionally and personally. As an event organizer, she tries to impress her misogynist client, Mason Grand, while her husband Charlie's sudden urge to become a thriller novelist doesn't excite her. On the other hand, Will finds it tough to gather finances for his dream bar.
The episode opens with Charlie Greeves, who, after retiring as a lawyer, now dreams of becoming a thriller writer after he finds a container in the garage. When the children ask him about the novel, he explains that it is about a lawyer who discovers a massive conspiracy.
However, his wife Sylvia doesn't like the idea of changing careers in mid-40s. He then hands up the manuscript to Sylvia to read and give him honest feedback. When Sylvia gives it a read, she is easily bored due to the overuse of legal terms.
On the other hand, Will's dreams of owning a bar (Shitty Little Bar) hit a new low when Reggie refuses to fund it and instead offers him to be a manager for Lucky Penny. Sylvia and Will talk about their problems when Charlie interrupts with a hat trick.

When Sylvia reaches the studio to meet Mason Grand, a little pep talk with Cabo Carrie reveals that Mason is not easy to work with. Mason does not show any interest from their first meeting. Although Sylvia tries to cheer up the conversation, Mason sort of insults her and asks her to calm down. To land the gig, Sylvia tells him that she knows Will Zysman, the founder of Lucky Penny Brewing, and that he is her party planning partner.
Sylvia then asks Will to meet Mason Grand, and when they do, they behave as if they are the closest of mates, completely ignoring the others at the table. When they left, Sylvia told Will that Mason was rude, while Will denied it. The two have a brief disagreement at the bar. Mason completely ignores Sylvia and communicates to her via Will, but Sylvia calls him out for his misogynistic and s*xist comments.
During the party, Will tells Sylvia that Mason had shown his interest in funding his bar. However, Sylvia asks him not to proceed with the deals since Mason isn't trustworthy. The two again have a brief disagreement, and Will complains that Sylvia is controlling and that she does not respect his stance.
Soon, Will realizes that Sylvia was right, and Mason Grand often makes offensive and misogynistic comments.
