Pro Bono Episode 12 recap: David flips the defamation case in his favour

In the penultimate episode of Pro Bono, David became successful in dragging the Chief Justice Shin and Dr. Oh of Oh&Partners in his defamation case. He calls them to question in court. However, it did not seem as easy as we see in the final episode, how hard it is for the pro bono team to fight against powerful and corrupt people.

However, with David by their side and his connections, such as procuring the recording where Shin and Dr. Oh openly discussed manipulating Jang Hyeon-bae's case and saving him from jail, he succeeds in drawing the required media attention to the case and also bringing the culprits to court. However, with teh duo being in power, they try to sabotage the case in any way possible, but David did not give up until the end.

Here's what happened in Pro Bono Episode 12.

Pro Bono Episode 12 recap: David asks the court to summon Dr. Oh and Chief Justice Shin

In the previous Episode of Netflix's K-drama, Pro Bono, David makes the explosive move and calls Dr. Oh and Chief Justice Shin to the court as well, claiming that they fixed Hyeon-bae's case to favour their business as well. While Myeong-hun claimed it was an outrageous move to call the Chief Justice to the court, David came with evidence of how Shin was connected to Hyeon-bae.

In a flashback scene, it is shown that David had confronted Jung-in about her role in his downfall and how much she actually knew about it. That's when she accepted it and gave him the recording of her father on a call with Justice Shin as they discussed Hyeon-bae's fate. The team submits the call recording as evidence to force Shin and Dr. Oh to come to court.

While they get the required media attention to make the case big, so that Dr. Oh and Shin cannot ignore it, they still face a problem, as they still hold a lot of power in Korea's legal world. By using the power of his position, he changes the judge in the court and assigns one who would favor him, making his attempt to derail the case.

Pro Bono Episode 12 recap: David and his team use AI to trick Hyeon-bae and Justice Shin

Later, in episode 12 of the K-drama, the new judge stops every attempt of the pro bono team to bring Shin and Dr. Oh to court. However, David still finds a way and tells the judge he wants a face-to-face cross-examination between all three culprits and asks him to give one week to make it happen, to which the judge agrees.

With the help of AI, they send fake videos to Shin and Hyeon-bae to pit them against each other. They even bring Jung-in, who convinces Myeong-hun to support them and bring Shin nd Hyeong-bae down. However, the most shocking twist was when Dr. Oh called David, and while revealing everything about his deal with Shin also offered him Shin's Chief Justice position if he saves him.

This created a strange dilemma, as becoming Chief Justice was David's dream from the beginning. Even his team thought something was up with their leader. However, in the end, he chose the side of justice and presented his conversation with Dr. Oh as evidence to prove how the post of Chief Justice was also being sold out for personal gain among these people.

After winning the case against the people, he joins Oh&Partners by becoming a part of the Marketing team, but soon resigns with his pro bono team as he wanted to keep helping people who were helpless.
