Ragnarok Season 3 ending explained: Magne discovers the truth about everything
At the end of Ragnarok Season 3, in the episode titled Ragnarok, the moment of peace is shattered by shock and grief as Magne sees Hods killing Jens with an arrow. During Magne's graduation ceremony, he sees Jens taking an arrow to the heart that was misfired by none other than Hod, the child who was himself hit by an arrow.
However, in a surprising twist, the audience realizes that the fight and events are similar to the Thor comics created by Magne. The giants, Jens' death, and everything else reflect the book, making it feel more like fiction than real life.
It is also revealed that everything that has been happening was all in Magne’s head and not real. He was trying to overcome the trauma of his father’s death with an epic tale created inside his mind. Magne couldn't cope with his father's death and ended up building a world to escape his real-life trauma, dealing with it in his own way.
Magne's mother reveals that he had had paranoid schizophrenia after his father's death, which may have led him to create a world of his own. However, in the end, he finds a way to move past his trauma and live his life better.
Ragnarok Season 3 ending explained: The Jutul family changes their actions toward Edda
The conflict between the Jutul family and Magne is the main storyline of the fantasy drama. Since the Jutuls are viewed as the main villains whom Magne blames for worsening Edda's climate, their defeat is crucial to the plot. By the end of Ragnarok Season 3, it is clear that the Jutuls, especially Saxa, fail to obtain Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.
Additionally, the Jutuls, who were responsible for polluting and damaging Edda, appear to be changing their approach, as Saxa, who is now the CEO, meets with activists and investors to plan ways to improve the community rather than harm it.
With Magne overcoming his trauma and the Jutuls changing how they do business, Ragnarok Season 3 wraps up all the major storylines, giving the fantasy drama a hopeful ending.
