Prime Video's Reacher protagonist, Jack Reacher, might be quick to defeat enemies, but when it comes to love, he's on shaky ground. Across three thrilling seasons, Reacher had multiple romantic partners, including Roscoe and Duffy- yet he failed to build a lasting future with any of them, leaving the fans unimpressed. While many fans want Roscoe to come back in Reacher's life, it seems highly unlikely as the series is based on Lee Child's novels.

The series tends to follow the original storyline from Lee Child's novels, and this might be one of the reasons why Reacher has not been able to find his true love yet. Each Reacher plot follows a similar rhythm- he arrives in a new town, unmasks the villains, and delivers justice. Often, the storyline is tied to events from his past, and thus, we see some familiar and some new faces each season.

Reacher's unstable love life can be solved if the makers adapt two of Lee Child's books from the Jack Reacher series. One from Tripwire and another from Die Trying. While Lee Child's Jack Reacher series can be read in any order, the original writing sequence places Die Trying as the second entry and Tripwire as the third.

In Die Trying, the viewers come across Leon Garber, Reacher's mentor, and in Tripwire, we see a stable relationship develop between Leon Garber's daughter, Jodie, and Reacher.

Introducing Jodie Garber from Lee Child's Tripwire could be a game-changer for Reacher's plot

Among all of Reacher's love interests, Jodie Garber stands out as a rare constant. She is introduced in Tripwire as the daughter of Leon Garber, Reacher's former mentor in the military. Their relationship develops quite organically and soon evolves into something deeper than Reacher typically allows himself. Jodie, unlike Reacher's other love interests, appears in two novels- first in Tripwire and then in The Visitor (Running Blind for U.S. readers).

Jodie might be the only love interest of Reacher who makes an appearance in two books of the Jack Reacher series. This also proves that the couple were, in fact, together for a long period. Introducing Jodie Garber in the series will thus break the series plot of 'one-season-one love interest' and bring about a change in Reacher's love life.

Who is Leon Garber as per Lee Child's Die Trying?

To introduce Jodie Garber in the Amazon Prime's Reacher, the makers need to release a season or a few episodes based on Lee Child's novel Die Trying, which introduces Leon Garber. Leon Garber was not just Reacher's mentor and Commanding Officer during his military days, but he also served as a senior officer in the U.S Army Military Police Corps. The duo shared more of a father-son bond instead of a professional mentor-mentee relationship. Jodie was Leon Garber's daughter, and she worked as an attorney in New York.

Interestingly, Reacher Season 3 had already teased Leon Garber via flashbacks, and this signals that the creative team might be interested in bringing Jodie as Reacher's partner in the upcoming seasons.
