Monique Samuels left The Real Housewives of Potomac almost five years ago, but now, she is set to return to the show with her fellow cast members in Maryland. After season 5, she decided never to return; however, she seems to have changed her mind about the Bravo series.

Sources have told People about the same, who revealed,

"Monique's in a totally different place now, and fans will see that. She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms."

Filming is taking place in Maryland with cast staples Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Keiarna Stewart, Stacey Rusch, and Dr. Wendy Osefo. It is revealed that Monique will star on Real Housewives of Potomac as a supporting cast member.

Real Housewives of Potomac - Monique Samuels is joining again

With Monique now joining the Real Housewives of Potomac, fans might get a ticket to watch the behind-the-scenes of her very public divorce that has currently been finalized. She had decided to separate from her husband, Chris Samuels.

Chris used to be an NFL defensive and their divorce, establishing an end to their 11 years of marriage, was finalized by September 2023. The ex-couple shares three kids together.

Monique Samuels started her reality TV journey during season 2 of Real Housewives of Potomac in 2017. She instantly became a fan favorite, and there was no denying the same because when her exit was announced, it sent a huge shock.

It all came boiling down to a cold war situation against fellow cast member Candiace Dillard Bassett. By the end of the season, it was no longer silent and resulted in a physical fight between the two.

After the ordeal was aired on TV, Monique was already done with Real Housewives of Potomac. She felt as if the cameras had gotten her worst side and shown it to the world by twisting a narrative. At the time, announcing her exit, she said,

"It was a crazy ride. It’s not easy doing reality TV, and to be quite honest, I’m over it. I appreciate everything that people have done for me, everybody that's been Team Monique — I love y'all, I thank y'all — but when you cross certain lines, there's no going back.

Continuing, she added,

And for me, my family is that line. The opinion of my family and my kids and what they think about anything that I do is more valuable than anybody’s opinion, so I’m over it."

Sharing her thoughts behind her Real Housewives of Potomac exit at the time, Monique had said that she wanted to represent a new side to "Black love" on TV, something that has not been done before, and it is not what we usually see on the screens. She said she wanted to break the stereotype, but somehow ended up playing right into it.

With Monique starring on the newest season, it will be interesting to see how her life has unfolded after the divorce.

Real Housewives of Potomac season 10 is expected to release later this year. All the previous episodes can be streamed online via Peacock.
