Sweetpea Season 2 might pick up with Seren at Rhiannon's doorstep, unaware that the latter committed murder on the other side of the door. While promoting Fallout Season 2, Ella Purnell revealed that she completed filming the second season last month. Teasing at a larger scope for Sweetpea Season 2, the British actress told Deadline:

“I’m exhausted, and it was worth it. It was a really crazy season. Season 1 was quite very small and tame in comparison to how bonkers this season is. There’s so much in it. It’s big.”

Sky Atlantic greenlit the series for another season after seeing the popular and critical acclaim for Sweetpea Season 1 last year. At that time, all the participants expressed happiness at the possibility of a Sweetpea Season 2. Ella Purnell, who is also the EP, released this statement:

"“Being part of Rhiannon’s coming-of-rage journey has been a career highlight for me, and to see fans engage with and relate to our oddball Rhiannon, in all her complexity, feels truly special. I cannot wait for audiences to see what she does next. Stay tuned.”

Now, a year later, it seems that the budget and cast for Sweetpea Season 2 have increased from the introductory season. Plus, the upcoming season will see the walls closing in on Rhiannon. Thus, the scope for the second session is going to be larger, as Rhiannon has to figure out ways to throw the spotlight off her murderous actions. The official description of season 2 reads Rhiannon:

“Lewis return with a vengeance as her killer secret continues to spiral, and she becomes more twisted than ever.”

What is Sweetpea about?

An adaptation of CJ Skuse's books, the first season of Sweetpea, consisting of six episodes, aired on October 10, 2024. A mild-mannered administrative assistant, Rhiannon Lewis, goes on a darker path after a tragic loss.

"In this deviously twisted and darkly comic ‘coming-of-rage’ thriller based on the 2017 novel by C.J. Skuse, Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Fallout) stars as Rhiannon: a quiet wallflower who develops a vengeful and liberating taste for murder… When we first meet Rhiannon Lewis, she doesn’t make much of an impression - people walk past her in the street without a second glance. She’s continually overlooked for a promotion at work, the guy she likes won’t commit, her sister is off living her life abroad with her husband and her dad is really, really sick. So far, so s**t. But when the death of her dad turns her life upside down, Rhiannon gets pushed over the edge – and suddenly the wallflower is gone, with a young woman with a violent streak emerging in her place. And no one is safe. At the time of writing (August 2025), Sweetpea season two is currently in production – though what lies ahead for Rhiannon is yet to be revealed. There are five books in C.J Skuse’s Sweetpea series, but the book and series story is vastly different in its nature, with several characters being expanded on, and Rhiannon’s back story being changed. It is expected to come to our screens in 2026."

The entire first season is streaming on the online Starz portal. Catch it before season 2 releases next year.
