Resident Alien Season 4 keeps proving it's not just about aliens; it's about identity, purpose, and the messiness of what it means to be human. In Episode 5, Harry finds himself in a lonely middle ground, not quite alien anymore, but not entirely human either.
While trying to feel more 'normal,' he takes a step too far and proposes to Asta. Meanwhile, D'Arcy's plans unravel, Asta's confidence takes a hit, and a surprise guest shows up just when Harry needs direction the most.
Asta steps up, but things don’t go as planned in Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5
In Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5, Asta insists she can handle running the diner while also managing her job at the clinic. Her dad, Dan, is hesitant, but eventually agrees to let her take over while he performs with his band out of town.
But things start to slip the moment Asta realizes she's expected to juggle both roles seamlessly, and no one seems to take her seriously.

She deals with condescending customers, judgment from locals, and Dan assigning Jay to "keep an eye on her," all of which chip away at her confidence. Asta's frustration peaks when she finds out Jay was asked to work on her day off, revealing Dan still sees her as someone who needs supervision.
Even worse, D'Arcy, who's supposed to help out with a simple bank drop, loses the money after spiraling into a self-destructive night. In Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5, Asta is left questioning whether she really can handle it all.
Harry tries to feel human, and ends up lost
Determined to fit in, Harry does what he thinks humans do: he goes jogging (in the middle of the street), hangs motivational posters, and even jumps into the world of social media. But none of it fills the emptiness he's carrying. Feeling the weight of his isolation, he proposes to Asta, thinking that companionship might fix everything.

Asta gently turns him down and instead urges him to build a connection with Bridget, his alien son. Harry takes the advice, but it's not smooth sailing. Bridget acts out, teleports away mid-fight, and leaves Harry feeling even more alone. Then, Peter Bach returns. The two talk, and Peter reminds Harry that being human doesn't mean giving up his alien side.
With Resident Alien Season 4, Harry begins to accept that maybe he doesn't have to choose between the two. He can be both. That shift makes room for healing and finally, for real connection with Bridget.
D’Arcy hits her lowest point yet
D'Arcy's dream of adopting a dog gets crushed when her past catches up with her. Her references fall through, and her arrest record paints her as irresponsible. That triggers a downward spiral.
In a chaotic attempt to get the dog anyway, she and Judy break into the animal shelter. What starts off as a funny caper ends with Judy's arm stuck in the mail slot and D'Arcy smashing a window.

Later in Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5, D'Arcy promises Asta she can handle the diner's bank drop. But she parties hard, passes out at the bar, and wakes up with the money missing. It's a huge blow to her trustworthiness, and it hurts Asta in the process.
Despite Judy's pep talk, D'Arcy knows she messed up badly. Whether this becomes her breaking point or turning point is still unclear, but it's obvious something has to change.
Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 5 peels back the layers on loneliness, growing pains, and fragile trust. Harry's identity crisis, Asta's need to prove herself, and D'Arcy's self-sabotage all collide in ways that are equal parts heartfelt and chaotic. As everyone tries to grow up, it becomes clear that change isn't always pretty — but it is necessary.
