Reunion cast: Meet the lead actors in the BBC One mini-series

1) Matthew Gurney as Daniel Brennan

The Reunion cast is led by deaf actor and writer Matthew Gurney, who plays the main character of Daniel Brennan, a deaf man recently released from prison. Daniel is on a journey of redemption and revenge, as he seeks to right his wrongs and find out the reason behind his imprisonment.

When we meet Daniel in the Pilot, he is a man abandoned by both his deaf community and the hearing community. The mini-series follows his efforts to rebuild his fraught relationship with his daughter.

Actor Matthew Gurney is best known for the deaf sitcom Small World, Switch, and Love's Labour's Lost: Performed in British Sign Language. As a fellow deaf actor, he also provides BSL consultancy and workshops.

2) Lara Peake as Carly Brennan

Carly is Daniel's daughter and a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult(s). She is the only hope in her father's life, and the two have kept in touch through letters during Daniel's imprisonment. However, Daniel's 'crimes' have also shunned Carly out of the deaf community, creating problems in her relationship with her father.

English actress Lara Peake also leads the Reunion cast, as Carly. Peake is most famously known for the BBC Three series Mood, Disney+ series Rivals, and Julian Fellowes' The English Game.

3) Eddie Marsan as Stephen Renworth

Stephen is a retired police officer who has recently started an affair with Ray's widow, Christine. Since Daniel was imprisoned for Ray's murder, Stephen helps Christine reconnect with her husband's murderer to seek answers.

Eddie Marsan has appeared in a variety of films and shows in his professional career, including Ray Donovan, Heartstopper, The Power, and Criminal Justice.

4) Anne-Marie Duff as Christine Mokhar

Christine is Ray's widow, who was Daniel's best friend. Since Christine also had a strong relationship with Daniel, she has a lot of questions about her husband's murder. After she hears that Daniel has been released, she sets out to seek answers from him.

Anne-Marie Duff is an exceptional addition to the Reunion cast and is best known for Apple TV+'s black comedy series Bad Sisters, for which she also won a BAFTA Award in 2024.
