Syfy’s latest horror series, Revival, is based on Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s comic book series of the same name. The show has been adapted for the network by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce. The official synopsis of the show, as per Rotten Tomatoes, states:
“One miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly return to life. But these are not zombies, as the ‘revived’ appear and behave just as they did before. As the mystery of this phenomenon fuels unrest, Dana Cypress, a down-on-her-luck and crass police officer and single mother, is thrust into a peculiar murder investigation-one where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone, whether living or revived, is a suspect.”
Since the dead come back to life in Revival, the investigation for Dana becomes even more complicated as both the living and the revived become suspects in the murder. Besides this intriguing storyline, the cast, consisting of talents like Melanie Scrofano and Romy Weltman, adds further to the appeal of the show.

Melanie Scrofano as Dana Cypress
Melanie Scrofano plays the key character Dana Cypress. She is depicted as a police officer in Wausau, Wisconsin, where the dead return to life. As the investigator of the murder case that took place there, her job becomes extremely difficult due to this strange turn of events.
Besides Revival, Melanie Scrofano has previously worked with Syfy, playing the titular character in Wynonna Earp. Her other projects include Beautiful People, Undressed, Supernatural, and more.
David James Elliot as Wayne Cypress
David James Elliott plays the role of Wayne Cypress, who is also associated with law enforcement in the Wisconsin town. As the Sheriff, he investigates the murder alongside Dana, and as a connection emerges between his younger daughter Martha and the town’s mysterious awakening of the dead, he becomes concerned for her well-being. However, he ensures that the townspeople do not panic and works toward maintaining peace and calm.

Romy Weltman as Martha "Em" Cypress
Romy Weltman portrays the character Martha "Em" Cypress. She is Dana’s younger sister and was in contact with her before the dead came back to life in Wausau. While she assures Dana that she is fine, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that Martha is hiding something important regarding the mystery that has engulfed the town.

Andy McQueen as Ibrahim Ramin
Andy McQueen plays Ibrahim Ramin, another important character who assists Dana with her investigation. Sent by the CDC, his character discovers that the revived can heal from injuries and appear to be immortal.
