Rick and Morty Season 8 Episode 6 recap: Rick takes his family on a unique trip

In episode 6 of Rick and Morty season 8, Rick decides to take the Sanchez family on a trip to a theme park called Earthworld, created by an alien, Dr. Dogball. Aside from the Beths, all the Sanchezes agree to accompany Rick, but as they reach the park, Rick is stunned to see that the park now looks like just any other amusement park on earth.

Rick later finds out that the park is now owned by corporations and that the creator of the park has been kept in captivity by the directors of the park and spends his time producing bighead celebrities. Dr. Dogball takes Rick and the others to see his version, which is the original Earthworld. Rick is happy to see that the park has all the defective machines, making them dangerous. This is what the actual Earthworld is, and not the one they visited earlier.

Rick and Morty Season 8 Episode 6 recap: The Beths cause chaos

Not happy with their mundane lives, Beth begins to reminisce about her childhood, which was more exciting than now, in episode 6 of Rick and Morty season 8. This gives Space Beth an idea, and she transforms Beth and herself into 10-year-olds using a special machine.

After the transformation, we encounter Beth, who is all too different from the adult one, as she is too unpredictable and frenetic. Both the Beths visit their neighbor Gene and also spend a little time in the treehouse, which has many memories from their childhood.

Gene, being a kind and good neighbor, gives them hot cocoa with marshmallows to drink, but the girls had other plans as they attacked him, just for fun. Gene had to call 911 after they set fire to his house while arguing with each other. But turns out his calls are all intercepted by Rick, who leaves his amusement park trip to come back home and control the two Beths.

Rick and Morty Season 8 Episode 6 recap: Rick and the Beths spend time together

Thanks to Rick’s array of gadgets, he brings the situation under control in episode 6 of Rick and Morty season 8 by capturing his daughters. However, just like everyone around them, Rick is also not spared as he is turned into a 360-year-old Rick after his daughters shove him into the same machine.

They get mad at him and deem him responsible for them turning out like that, as he was not involved in Beth’s childhood much. However, he reminds them that he is from a different reality and his Beth has already died. This does not help the anger that the Beths hold, and they attack him, which makes him tell them that he is proud of them for unleashing their frustration.

This made them stop as they began crying, as Rick acknowledged them and also reassured them of being his daughters. The trio then fixed everything that the two destroyed and enjoyed watching the sunset.

Elsewhere, after Rick left, Dogball took Summer and Jerry to a factory where bigheads were being captured, and he set them free after making them go feral by using some mind-controlling rays. While Morty is taken by an alien girl who just wants to experience being with a human, Summer and Jerry had to flee the place before being attacked by the bigheads, who have now gone savage.

The trio meet after Summer protects Morty from a Culkin family bighead, and they escape the park, reaching home in a bloodied appearance, contrasting the quiet evening the father and his daughters were spending.
