Rick and Morty Season 8 is here, and the world’s favorite grandpa and grandson duo are back with some new adventures. The show has always been known for its black comedy and satire set in a sci-fi backdrop, and the new season continues with these themes.
Audiences had to endure a long wait of more than one and a half years to watch new episodes of the show, as the previous season came out in October 2023. The eighth installment of the animated series premiered on May 25, 2025.

Rick and Morty Season 8 release schedule
Keeping up with the previous seasons, Rick and Morty Season 8 is going to feature 10 episodes. The first episode, Summer of All Fears, has already aired on Adult Swim on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The rest of the episodes are going to come out weekly on Sundays, until the finale, Hot Rick, which will be released on July 27, 2025. All the episodes will be aired on Adult Swim at 11 PM ET / PT. However, they won’t become available on any streaming platform right away.
So to watch the show online, you will have to use a live TV service like Sling TV, DirecTV, Hulu + Live TV, or Fubo. Once the entire season finishes its television run, it will be available to stream on HBO Max. The complete release schedule of Rick and Morty Season 8 is as follows:
Meanwhile, Rick & Morty aren’t going anywhere for the next few years, as the show has already been renewed for four more seasons. In 2024, Cartoon Network confirmed that the series will run till at least Season 12.
The voice cast of Rick and Morty Season 8
The show had a cast shakeup ahead of Season 7 as Justin Roiland, who voiced both the leads, left the show. Ian Cardoni then joined as the voice of Rick Sanchez, and Harry Belden started voicing Morty Smith. The two have reprised their roles in the eighth season.
The rest of the cast includes Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith, Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith, Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith, Kari Wahlgren as Jessica and Diane, Dan Harmon as Birdperson, Allen as Mr. Poopybutthole, and Tom Kenny as Gene Gilligan and Squanchy. The official synopsis of the show reads:
“[The series] follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.”
