Rivers of Fate is a Brazilian Netflix drama that captivated audiences with its raw storyline against the backdrop of the Amazon. The show revolves around Janalice, a teenager who is drawn into the darkness of s*x trafficking, but intertwines themes of survival and cultural folklore. But as the credits of the last episode of Season 1 rolled by, it appeared quite obvious that the tale of Rivers of Fate is far from over!

All the lead actors of Season 1 of Rivers of Fate, Amadeu, Zé Do Boi, Preá, and Pedro, perished in the gory finale. That gives a fresh start for Season 2 to bring in new faces. New enemies or allies may enter Janalice's life if Rivers of Fate is ever reactivated, changing her fate in directions she would never have imagined.

Through the entirety of Rivers of Fate Season 1, the specter of pssica, a curse or supernatural creature, looms over the characters. While it certainly does contribute some cultural richness and symbolism, pssica is never overtly stated to be completely aware of what it represents. Is pssica simply superstition, or is it the psychological burden of trauma that the characters are then dealing with?
Perhaps it could hint at something otherworldly that comes into fruition during Season 2? Up to now, pssica is the least clear aspect of Rivers of Fate, raising more questions than answers.
