Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale Season 2 release date and global streaming time

AMC confirmed that Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale Season 2 will premiere on Christmas Day (December 25) on AMC+ in the United States. After that, episodes will be released every week. AMC is betting on holiday binge-watchers discovering Season 1 on Netflix and hopping over to AMC+ for the continuation.

While they haven’t announced an exact timing, AMC+ usually drops new episodes of its shows at 12:00 a.m. ET. So based on that, here’s when we can expect the season 2 premiere to line up globally:

RegionRelease time
US (Pacific Time)9:00 p.m. PT (Dec 24)
US (Eastern Time)12:00 a.m. ET
UK5:00 a.m. GMT
Central Europe6:00 a.m. CET

Season 2 will run for six episodes.

What is Season 2 about?

Sanctuary wasn't dated when Season 1 ended, and Season 2 finds Sarah Fenn and her daughter Harper in hiding in Scotland as anti-witch laws spread and so do hate crimes. According to AMC, the calm doesn’t last long. A new murder forces Sarah back to Sanctuary.

This change threatens both her child and her magic.

The show’s strength has always been its refusal to play witchcraft as fantasy material. Instead, it treats magic as a sort of apolitical identity. Season 2 leans even harder into that idea, with paranoia now being the law.

If you’re starting fresh, Season 1 will be on Netflix on December 26 in most regions, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

But remember that the Netflix drop will be landing just one day after Season 2 premieres on AMC+, so take advantage of that viewing funnel. Season 1 will be on Netflix from December 26, via AMC+ and Sundance Now, and Season 2 will only be on AMC+ and will drop weekly, starting December 25.
