NBC's Saved by the Bell is an American teen sitcom that premiered in 1989 and was among the popular shows targeted toward children. The show followed a group of kids and the Principal of Bayside High School in LA. While depicting comedic situations that the characters find themselves in, the show also delved into the challenges young people faced, such as drug use, women's rights, and environmental issues, among several others.

The sitcom presented various narratives and also gave opportunity to the characters to shine through, and made the actors more popular as they appeared in the four seasons of the sitcom.

Saved by the Bell was the reboot of Disney Channel's Good Morning, Miss Bliss, and several of the main characters of teh NBC show were first introduced in the original shows, such as Zack Morris, Samuel, and Mr. Belding, among several others.

The cast and character guide of Saved by the Bell are as follows:

1) Dennis Haskins as Mr. Richard Belding

Haskins' character, Mr. Belding, is the Principal of Bayside High School. He is often found to be the victim of Zack's many schemes and appears to be fed up with the teenager. However, on numerous occasions in the series, it is revealed that Belding saw himself in Zack, as he was the same rebellious kid as a teenager.

The American actor is popularly known for his portrayal of the Principal of Bayside High School and has appeared in all the spinoff series of Saved by the Bell. He has also appeared in the TV show, The Dukes of Hazzard, and many popular shows such as Mad Men.


2) Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris

Gosselaar appeared as Zack Morris in the teen sitcom. His character was one of those kids who are often at the centre of all the troubles in the school. Lying, manipulating, and being difficult to manage by Principal Belding is what Zack was known for.

Gosselaar has appeared in the revival of the teen sitcom and has been a part of numerous other acclaimed TV shows, such as Will Trent, Barry, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, among several others.


3) Dustin Diamond as Samuel Powers

Diamond's Samuel, also called Screech, is the nerdy and awkward student at Bayside High School. Samuel is intelligent when it comes to bookish knowledge, but when it comes to applying it practically, he often fails.

Other than Haskins, Diamond is the other actor who has appeared in the prequel and spin-offs of the teen sitcom. The late actor has also appeared in TV shows such as The Wonder Years and Getting By.


4) Lark Voorhies as Lisa Turtle

Voorhies appears as Lisa Turtle in the teen sitcom. Her parents were both doctors, due to which she was the rich kid in her friends' circle. Throughout the four seasons of the teen sitcom, Lisa spent most of her time avoiding Samuel's advances toward her.

Voorhies has appeared in popular soap operas, The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives, and has also appeared in the beloved TV show, Small Wonder.


5) Mario Lopez as A. C. Slater

Mario Lopez plays A.C. Slater in Saved by the Bell. He is the newcomer at teh high school, but still becomes popular in school due to being good at sports and being the quarterback of the football team.

Many might know Lopez for his hosting skills as the host of Access Hollywood. However, he has also shown his acting skills in various other shows such as The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia and NCIS: New Orleans, among several others.


6) Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Kapowski

Thiessen's character, Kelly, is Zack's crush in Saved by the Bell. She is the most popular and hardworking girl in the school, who excels in multiple sports, cheerleading, and is even good at studies.

The American actress has appeared in shows such as Alexa & Katie, White Collar, and Two Guys and a Girl, among numerous others.


7) Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano

Berkley's character Jessie Spano is Zack's neighbor and also a friend in the teen sitcom. She is a courageous girl who always stands up to injustice and is described as a feminist in the show.

Other than the teen sitcom, Berkley has been a part of shows such as CSI: Miami, Titus, and The L Word, among many others.
