Harry Potter fans have reason to celebrate again, as new set photos reveal Rachael Wooding in full costume for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. The images, taken in Skipton, show the actress immersed in a mysterious role that’s sparked plenty of speculation online.

While HBO hasn’t confirmed her character yet, many believe and speculate that Wooding might be playing the character of Mrs. Arabella Figg due to set photos. Mrs. Figg is the Squib and secret guardian who once kept an eye on young Harry in Little Whinging.

The Character: Why fans of Harry Potter think Rachael Wooding could be Mrs. Figg

There’s something about the newest Harry Potter set photos that feels like a direct nod to the fans and their memory. Rachael Wooding was seen on location in Skipton, dressed in what looks like an old-fashioned outfit in a distinctly Muggle neighborhood.

Now, Mrs. Arabella Figg was a Squib. She's born to magical parents but has no magical powers herself. As a member of the Order of the Phoenix, she was Harry's protector when he was a baby and she even babysat him. She was a cat-obsessed woman and reported back to Dumbledore. Her importance only became clear when she testified in Harry’s defense after the dementor attack in The Order of the Phoenix.

If Wooding would indeed be playing Mrs. Figg, the casting choice feels perfect. While HBO has not officially confirmed her role, fans are already imagining how the show will bring Mrs. Figg to life once more, and the pictures do speak for themselves.

Recreating Magic: How the HBO show is taking shape

The Harry Potter show is on its way to be one of HBO’s most awaited projects yet and with production now happening, the new adaptation will be retelling J.K. Rowling’s books with the help of a series format.

Each season will be exploring one book each season and the creative team will be making sure that the story gets the time and detail it deserves. Francesca Gardiner, known for her work on Succession, will be writing the series, and Mark Mylod will be the director as well as the executive producer.

Dominic McLaughlin has been cast as the new Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. HBO has also announced that the series might be released somewhere between late 2026 and early 2027, and the recent photos from Skipton only suggest that the production is on track.

For now, Wooding’s secret role only increases the curiosity about the anticipated HBO project.

The set pictures of Rachael Wooding on the Harry Potter set has put new life into theories and has also renewed excitement for the wizarding HBO series. Whether she’s truly playing Mrs. Figg or another hidden character from the franchise, her being on set marks a key step in bringing the wizarding universe back to life for a new generation.
