With Stranger Things Season 5 fast approaching its release date, fans have some exciting revelations, courtesy of the Broadway show, The First Shadow. The popular Netflix show has left many details hidden within the show so far, and one of the biggest mysteries that has left fans boggled so far is that of Dustin's lineage. While there have been appearances in the show by Dustin's mother, Claudia, fans have no clue about his paternal roots - that is, until now.
It has been confirmed that the events that take place in The First Shadow are in keeping with the timeline of the original plotline. The events of The First Shadow take place in 1959 Hawkins, and primarily focus on the backstory of Henry Creel/Vecna. The story takes place during his high school years, and also shows several of his peers and classmates at the high school, many of whom return in the original series as parents of the central characters.
Among Henry Creeler's peers, fans get an insight into Dustin's father's character as well.

The First Shadow reveals the identity of Dustin's father ahead of Stranger Things Season 5 release
The First Shadow reveals Dustin's father to be Walter Henderson, Creeler's fellow student at Hawkins High. The Henderson family is revealed to own a liquor store in the town. However, there is no clarity about what happened to the liquor store during the events of the original show.
The Broadway show delves into the lives of Walter and Claudia during some of their dating stage. However, the show does not provide any clarity about what really ends up happening to the character during the timeline of the original series - whether they get married or not before they leave Hawkin, is still unclear.
Moreover, while we see Dustin's mother in the original storyline multiple times, Dustin's father has not made an appearance so far. So, Season 5 can still give fans an insight into the relationship that Dustin shares with his father, Walter, and whether they share a relationship at all.
Although The First Shadow gave fans a big piece of information that was missing so far from Dustin's story, there's still a lot more to chew on that Season 5 of Stranger Things can offer to its fans.
