What is Silent Truth about?

The Japanese drama features Takeuchi Ryoma in the main lead, who plays the role of detective Tobina Junichi. The story revolves around his past when he was in elementary school in sixth grade and, with his other three classmates, decided to hide a gun.

They dug a spot under a cherry blossom tree and decided to never reveal anything about it to anyone. As they grew up, they slowly went their separate ways due to their careers and life choices.

However, Junichi's life takes a turn when he investigates a case that involves murder, and the weapon used in the murder was the gun that he hid with his classmates years ago. It also involved one of the classmates, Iwamoto Makiko, a character played by Inoue Mao, as a suspect. Makiko was also a childhood love of Junichi, which makes the case more important and personal to him.

Whether he will trust Makiko, and if yes, how he will be able to prove his innocence, will be something viewers will be able to find out only after the drama starts streaming. There might also be a subtle love angle, considering Makiko is Junchi's first love.

From the marked genre, Silent Truth will mostly revolve around finding the real killer, how the gun ended up at the scene, and who was behind it.

The drama also features Seto Koji, Watanabe Daichi, Kamikawa Shusaku, and Kita Kana in the supporting roles. However, what roles their characters will be playing in the drama is not yet revealed.

Speaking of the shooting place for the drama, Takeuchi Ryoma said in a reported statement by Mantan,

"The location for this shoot is a place I often visited when I was in middle and high school. It's a place filled with many good and painful memories from my adolescence, and it's emotional to think that I can naturally channel the emotions I felt at the time into the role!"

The drama might also have scenes revolving around the main lead's school days and the friendship he shared with his close mates, along with Makiko, whom he was in love with at that time.
