Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: Teams battle harsh weather and push past their fears in the latest challenge

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, Season 4, Episode 5 aired on October 23, 2025. The latest episode featured two contestants going through a self-elimination. This included Nick Young and Ravi Patel.

The remaining participants went through a capture task followed by a water task. For the first task, they were divided into two teams. For the second event, participants competed in pairs, required to dive into the water in perfect sync.

Later in the episode, one of the contestants, Randall Cobb, was called out by the staff. He got emotional after his intentions were questioned. He also opened up about his background, family, going through a house fire, and feeling selfish.

Fox describes the Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season 4 Episode 5 as:

"The recruits are split into teams and compete to be the first group to complete an intensive race in the blistering heat; in pairs, the recruits backwards dive off a platform in sync, facing their fears through teamwork."

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: After two contestants chose to leave, the remaining ones go through two challenges

The recently released Special Forces: World's Toughest Test episode started with the remaining contestants. This includes:

Gia Giudice, Shawn Johnson East, Andrew East, Jessie Dames Decker, Ravi Patel, Eric Decker, Kody Brown, Brianna LaPaglia, Nick Young, Chanel Iman, Mark Estes, Randall Cobb, and Christie Pearce Rampone.

Day 5 started with the DS calling out anyone who wanted to leave. Nick Young was the first one to leave, followed by Ravi Patel. Both of them chose to leave the show voluntarily.

Further in the episode, contestants were asked whom they trusted the least many of them mentioned Chanel Imam. However, Gia Giudice and Brianna LaPaglia noted that Iman had helped them through emotional moments.

They were then brought to a village for the next challenge, where they had to escape from their opponents’ capture, all while recovering their own equipment. For that, contestants were divided into two teams:

  • Team Alpha: Iman (Team Leader): Mark Estes, Jesse James Decker,
  • Team Bravo: Andrew East (Team Leader): Shawn Johnson East, Christie Pearce Ramponse.

During the task, Team Alpha faced struggles with Iman's leadership. Witnessing their performance, Billingham yelled:

"This is pathetic. Move!"

It resulted in Team Bravo's win. The next teams were:

  • Gia Giudice, Kody Brown, Brianna LaPaglia,
  • Randall Cobb and Eric Decker.

Kody Brown's team lost after facing issues with his teammates.


Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: A water task followed by Randall Cobb's questioning

The next challenge in the show was to jump into the water while performing a backward dive. For that, participants were sent to a lake. They were paired with partners, and each duo had to complete the task together. Sharing more about the challenge, DS Rudy Reyes announced:

"If you're out of sync, you both fail."

Jesse James and Christie Pearce Rampone were the first pair. They failed after they were out of sync while they hit the water. The next pair was Randall Cobb and Andrew East, who also failed.

The first pair to get the task right was Shawn and Eric. LaPaglia and Iman were the next ones to get it right.

Later in Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, Randall Cobb was called for questioning. It happened after DS felt something was missing. When asked to share his motives behind his participation, he shared:

"I miss being on the field and being able to walk off the field victorious."

He recalled the housefire he and his family went through and got emotional. He also admitted to feeling selfish for leaving them now and being on the show. Cobb noted that the experience had been eye-opening for him.

"And I thought I was coming here for me. That that was something that I was going to get out of it. And what I got out of it is that I'm selfish," confessed Cobb.

However, DS assured him that he was not selfish and that they would make him a better version of himself.
