Netflix's adult animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch reimagines one of gaming's most iconic franchises. It is developed by Derek Kolstad and draws inspiration from Tom Clancy's popular video game series.

Sam Fisher is a former operative living a quiet retirement in Poland. However, when a mission spirals out of control, he's called back into action. Over eight intense episodes, the story blends espionage, moral dilemmas, and high-stakes geopolitics.

Let's break down who voices whom in this new Netflix adaptation.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch voice cast

Liev Schreiber- Sam Fisher

The legendary agent returns, but this time he isn't the same man fans remember from the video games. Liev Schreiber now voices Sam Fisher. Schreiber's commanding voice was essential for portraying an aging and wiser Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. Schreiber captures that balance of control and inner turmoil, grounding the story in emotion. His performance sets the tone for the season- powerful yet calm. You might know Schreiber for his roles as Marty Baron in Spotlight or Victor Creed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He's also set to appear in projects including Lazarus and The Guns of Christmas Past.

Kari Wahlgren as Diana Shetland

Kari Wahlgren stars as Diana Shetland, the main antagonist and CEO of Displace International. She's the ideal modern villain- elegant yet ruthless- and who better to play the role than Kari Wahlgren? Some of her notable works include Solar Opposites, Krapopolis, Marvel Zombies, Rick & Morty, and more.

Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia McKenna

Kirby Howell-Baptiste plays Zinnia McKenna, a Fourth Echelon operative in Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. Howell-Baptiste delivers both intensity and empathy, adding an emotional punch to the series. She brings energy and rawness to the character of Zinnia McKenna. Some of her notable projects include Sandman, Sugar, Dead Boy Detectives, The Good Place, and Barry, among others.

Joel Oulette as Thunder

Every spy story needs a tech genius, and Deathwatch finds its hacker in Thunder. Voice by Joel Oulette, Thunder brings humor and heart to the mix. His quick thinking and youthful arrogance make him a standout among the serious agents around him. Oulette's performance adds a modern edge to the show's tone, confident, loyal, curious, yet at times reckless.

Janet Varney as Anna Grimsdottir

Janet Varney voices Grim, the technical operations officer of Fourth Echelon and Fisher's longtime ally. Calm, precise, and brilliant, Grim keeps the entire team functioning smoothly. Varney's performance strikes a balance between authority and subtle warmth, capturing the true essence of a leader.

Her bond with Schreiber is also a joy to watch. Varney is known for her roles in Platonic, White Elephant, The Legend of Korra, and Catwoman, among others.

Other supporting cast

  • Kiff VandenHeuvel voices Douglas Shetland, Sam's former friend turned foe, whose legacy drives the story.
  • Navid Neghaban voices Reza Gunther Karimi.
  • Bella Dayne as Freya Niemeyer
  • Aleks Le brings tension and unpredictability as Charlie Shetland, Diana's half-brother with his own twisted agenda.

Final note

What makes Splinter Cell: Deathwatch a must-watch is its voice cast. Every role feels authentic. Schreiber's deep calm, Howel-baptiste's urgency, and Wahlgren's cruelty all come together to deliver sharp, tense, and explosive moments in the series. Splinter Cell: Deathwatch isn't a straightforward remake.

This isn't just about nostalgia for old fans. It's a reinvention, and the choice of the voice cast and plot clearly reflects that. The cast doesn't just voice the role; they own it, making Splinter Cell: Deathwatch one of the most gripping thrillers of the year.

All eight episodes are available to stream on Netflix.
