The chaotic and often quirky doctors in St. Denis Medical Season 2 are back, who mainly focus on treating patients, even with limited resources and budget. What makes the plot engaging is how humor and chaos are blended in an emergency room of a struggling hospital.

The new chapter gives a look at how each character’s life has changed. However, one thing that does not change is workplace disorder and the interpersonal relationships that keep the hospital running.

In Season 2, Nurse Alex steps into a new role as Supervising Nurse in the ER. While she rose to a better position, Alex started facing personal issues. She's also a mother and a nurse, so Alex has to ensure a balance between her responsibilities.

Then we have Joyce, the hospital’s executive director. While her intentions are always pure, her approach to management often leads to funny missteps. And once again, she takes center stage in episode 3 of St. Denis Medical Season 2, as she experiments with a tomo pod.

A detailed recap of the latest episode is right below.

As mentioned before, Joyce is the director who wants to modernize the hospital. Her ways are so different that she often ends up being misunderstood or failing in her quirky missions. In episode 3 of St. Denis Medical Season 2, Joyce first brings in a therapy horse to lift everyone’s spirits.

Joyce thinks that this will cheer everyone up. But what she's actually excited about is a new gadget she’s just bought: the Tomo Pod. It can scan the entire body, and having that Joyce thinks that this will change the future of healthcare.

She's incredibly happy about it and wants to show the tomo pod to everyone. And soon, all her excitement turns into disappointment. When the scanner is set up, problems start showing up. Dr. Ron immediately questions the machine, saying it might actually make people more anxious about their health instead of helping them.

And to prove him wrong, Joce tells the hospital staff to use the tomo pod for free scans. As the episode continues, it becomes clear that Joyce herself doesn't know how to operate the machine.

A technician is brought in, and to make it worse, the machine starts making loud and irritating sounds. It also comes with the risk of radiation, so the worker had to wear heavy protective gear.

The noise from the tomo pod starts getting too loud that even Joyce has to run out of her office. And in the end, her plan fails (once again!). What she thought would make her look smart and forward-thinking instead turns into a noisy, stressful mess.

Alex gets herself into trouble when she takes her "always be honest" rule too seriously. During a conversation with Dr. Ron, Alex says that she and her husband never hide anything. Ron teases her by asking if she’s ever mentioned "Hot Gary," the delivery guy everyone jokes about.

Alex calls Tim right away. But things quickly go downhill in episode 3 of St. Denis Medical Season 2 when Tim admits he finds their co-worker, Serena, good-looking. This makes Serena misunderstand Tim and it sets a chain of humorous events.

Tim even shows up at the hospital with flowers, only to tell Seerena that he doesn't want anything inappropriate. And Ron just enjoys the mess. He knew that Alx was trying hard to prove that she and Tim had a perfect relationship but that's actually not true.

Bruce's health scare in St. Denis Medical Season 2 episode 3

Another major highlight of episode 3 of St. Denis Medical Season 2 is Bruce's health scare. Thanks to Joyce, who brought the tomo pod and let Bruce scan his body. When he uses the machines, the results show a curve in his spine.

Though it's not something to worry about, Bruce starts believing that it's serious. He starts blaming his everyday habits, like drinking coffee, and insists on getting another scan to be sure.

Matt steps in to help Bruce and explains that no one is perfect. However, Bruce couldn't stop comparing himself to Matt just because his results were better. After a long explanation, Bruce finally understands that he doesn't have to look perfect.

While this drama takes place, Ron ends up in another drama. A misunderstanding takes place through Ron's computer when people start thinking he likes Serena. And while explaining that this isn't true, Ron admits having a crush on Joyce.
