Apple TV's sports comedy series Stick Episode 10 began with the penultimate episode's cliffhanger, which saw Santi's father, Gary, return to the US for his son's tournament.

While Santi had spent the majority of the series blaming his father for leaving him and his mother when he was just a boy, Gary's presence was enough to make his son forget about his earlier mistakes. Gary even reveals that he flew in from Germany to support his son at the tournament.

In Stick Episode 10, while Santi is happy to see his father's support, Elena, Mitts, Pryce and Zero do not like Gary's involvement in the tournament. Elena is even sure that her ex-husband will soon show his true colors and will hurt her son once again.

How did Gary's presence affect Santi's tournament and what became of Pryce and Santi's bond?

Here is the complete Stick Episode 10 recap.

After the father-son reunion in Stick Episode 10, Gary starts to take responsibility for his son in the tournament. He influences his son by talking about the various tournaments he won in the past, thanks to his guidance.

This conversation was clearly intended to influence Santi's mind. The teenager was overwhelmed by his father's presence, hastily deciding to accept him as his caddy. While Pryce is visibly hurt by Santi's decision, he lets him take the shots and steps back for Gary to take charge for the remainder of his son's tournament.

However, the moment Gary steps up as Santi's caddy, Stick Episode 10 title Déjà Vu All Over Again comes into brilliant play. While Santi was having a brilliant run in the tournament, he took a few bad shots, thanks to his father's ill-advice.

While it was Gary who advised his son to take a few risky shots, he becomes frustrated and angry at his son when he makes them and drops low on the leaderboard. Gary's anger, critique, and harsh words towards Santi get him even more worked up, and he makes even worse shots.

Stick Episode 10 recap: Pyrce's mentorship saves the day

While Gary was negatively affecting Santi's performance at the tournament, Pyrce had taken a seat at the club and was drinking alone. While Mitts earlier believed that Pryce was wrong to fund Santi and coach him, seeing him play so badly under Gary's guidance changed his perspective, and he asked Pryce to step back up as the teenager's mentor.

Mitts' motivation did the trick and Pyrce ran to the tournament offering his help to Santi, which offended Gary even more. However, by this time, Santi had come to his senses and realised that his father was incapable of change, and he chose Pryce to mentor him for the rest of the tournament.

With Pyrce's mentorship and guidance in Stick Episode 10, Santi returns to his form and takes some winning shots, which improves his position on the leaderboard.

While Santi was not able to win the tournament in the Stick finale, he impressed everyone with his shots and performance. Even without winning, he was the most talked-about player in the tournament, which will ultimately be a great career boost for him.

The finale concluded with a scene some time after the tournament, where Santi and Pryce are practicing together. Upon the teenager's insistence, Pryce takes an incredible shot that hints he might return to the sports world. The scene also gives hope that Santi and Pryce have finally found their footing and their mentor-protege relationship is for life.
