Apple TV’s sports comedy-drama Stick premiered the final episode of season 1 on July 23, 2025, with a hopeful ending about Santi’s pro-golfing future and his relationships with Pryce and Zero.
Stick narrates the story of Owen Wilson’s Pryce, a former popular golfer who uses a teenager, Santi Wheeler’s talent, to get back on the field while helping the youngster become a better player.
After some clashes between Pryce and Santi (Peter Dager), the latter chose Gary, his father, as his caddy, which almost cost him the Ready Safe Invitational tournament, until Pryce decided to step in. Besides that, Santi's relationship with Zero, which had become strained after he learns about her making a deal with Pryce to help him with his game, also improves.
Both realised their mistakes and looked very much together at the end of the Invitational tournament.
Here’s what happened at the end of the Stick finale episode.

Stick finale ending explained: Pryce steps in as Santi’s caddy
The finale episode of Stick showed how choosing Gary as his caddy was Santi’s biggest mistake, as when he began to make some faulty shots, his father went back to his old ways and made the teenager more affected than he already was.
While Pryce was hurt by Santi choosing Gary as caddy, he also saw how difficult it was getting for Santi to work with his father, and it was affecting his performance in the game. Mitts’s words about Santi being a good person gave Pryce the needed push to act to help Santi in the tournament.
His little stunt of switching on the sprinklers and clashing with Gary gave Santi the chance to finally switch his caddy, which this time he does thoughtfully and chooses Pryce. Pryce’s patience and guidance helped Santi to come back from the slump he went into and make a couple of perfect shots to get ahead on the leaderboard, which initially he was only sinking in.
Stick finale ending explained: Santi’s future as a pro-golfer seems hopeful
While Santi does get better after Pryce comes back as his caddy in the finale of Stick, the points that he lost in the beginning affect his overall score, as he could not win against the professional, Collin Morikawa, in the Ready Safe Invitational tournament.
However, Santi’s comeback at the last minute, with incredible shots, made him the talk of the tournament, which is hopeful for his pro-golf career ahead. Pryce’s intervention in the middle of the game might not have helped the teenage pro-golfer win the tournament, but it surely helped the teenage boy, who was struggling with his confidence, with his father’s unlikable ways to make him win.
Other than the promising future ahead for Santi and Pryce’s partnership in the golfing world, the finale also gave us a glimpse of Santi’s personal life by showing Zero (Lilli Kay) by his side at the end of the tournament, depicting that the duo is still together, after going through so much throughout the ten episodes of Stick.
