Stranger Things has reached its conclusion, bringing together the Wheeler siblings in ways viewers have long waited to witness. Finn Wolfhard recently revealed that he specifically requested sequences together for the show's conclusion.
During a panel conference at The Paley Center in New York City, Wolfhard expressed the unique bond between his character, Mike Wheeler, and his on-screen sister, Nancy Wheeler.
He shared that both performers approached the Duffer Brothers about including more scenes between the siblings in the last episodes. The request highlights the unique relationship between these characters that started in the very first audition.
This sibling bond has remained central to Stranger Things throughout its four-season run, even when the brother and sister spent seasons pursuing separate narratives. The last season offers a chance to bring this bond full circle after years of adventure and growth in Hawkins. Both performers wanted to honor the connection that had existed since the start, but rarely received proper screen time.

Mike and Nancy's journey through five seasons of Stranger Things
Mike Wheeler started as the leader of his friend group in the first season. He was twelve and was searching for his missing friend, Will Byers. During this search, he encounters Eleven and makes her part of the group.
Meanwhile, Nancy Wheeler begins as a typical teenager trying to balance her friendships and relationships with Steve. As the story progresses with new conflicts and the loss of her friend, Nancy breaks up with Steve and partners with Jonathan Byers to find Will, her brother's Brother, and uncover the truth about the Upside Down.
The second season saw Mike struggling with Eleven's absence and supporting Wil through his unlikely connection to the Mind Flayer.
The siblings operated in separate circles but shared the same determination to safeguard their city. By the third season, Mike was navigating his first real connection with Eleven while Nancy encountered workplace discrimination at the Hawkins Post.
Both characters demonstrated growth in handling increasingly complex challenges. The fourth season of Stranger Things further separated the two main characters as they embarked on different missions.
Nancy investigates Vecna's murders in Hawkins, and Mike travels to California. Their paths rarely crossed despite encountering the same supernatural threat. The distance between them made their sibling bond less apparent to viewers.

The fifth season brings the duo together in Hawkins under military quarantine. The stakes are at their peak as Vecna targets the family and young children. The attack on Wheeler alters the dynamic between the siblings as they fight against Vecna to retrieve their sister.
They share guilt over not warning their family about the dangers they encountered. This tragedy brings them together, forming a bond. Nancy takes over the mission against Vecna, while Mike assumes his leadership role to look out for Holly.
Looking ahead to the finale of Stranger Things
The last episodes will test every character's growth. Nany leads the team into the Upside Down to fight Vecna and rescue Holly. Mike, on the other hand, supports these missions while grappling with his own fears and instincts.
Their collaboration displays how much both characters have changed since that first season. Fans can expect emotional scenes between the siblings as they encounter their biggest struggle yet.
"We wanted scenes together, and like we asked the Duffers — I think you guys were already planning on putting us together, but it was something that I think we really wanted and it was the best. It was so fun,"
Wolfhard said during the panel discussion.
The first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5, part of the first volume, are now streaming on Netflix. More episodes will be released on December 25. The show finale is set to release on December 31.
After nearly ten years, the series concludes with answers and closure for popular characters. Fans will finally see the Wheeler siblings together.
