The CW's popular series Sullivan's Crossing concluded its Season 3 finale on June 22, 2025.

The romantic series, based on Robyn Carr's novels, follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan, who returns to her hometown of Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father.

Fans can rejoice as the show has already been renewed for Season 4 and will likely return in 2026.

Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 followed many ups and downs in Maggie's professional and personal lives. While she finally decided to stay with Cal in the Crossing in the Season 3 finale, her summer fling returned, claiming to be her husband.

More on this in our story.

Sullivan's Crossing is confirmed for Season 4

Despite a complicated renewal process due to the co-production between Canada’s CTV and the United States’ CW, Sullivan's Crossing Season 4 was earlier confirmed in June.

While CTV confirmed Season 3 much earlier for Canadian audiences, CW took its sweet time with American audiences. However, the show's popularity paved the way for a bright future and the CW renewed Season 4 just months after CTV.

Looking at previous release patterns, Sullivan's Crossing Season 4 will likely premiere in 2026. In addition, the show will soon join Carr's other popular adaptation, Virgin River, on Netflix.

Since the cast of the show has largely remained the same for three seasons, the main cast is expected to return for the next chapter, led by Morgan Kohan's Maggie Sullivan.

Other main cast members expected to return in Season 4 include Chad Michael Murray as Cal Jones, Andrea Menard as Edna Cranebear and Scott Patterson as Sully Sullivan. Season 3 cast additions who can likely stick for future seasons include Kate Vernon as Helen Culver and Cindy Sampson as Cindy.

Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 ended on a major cliffhanger

It's a good thing that Sullivan's Crossing is already renewed for Season 4 because the Season 3 finale ended on a shocking cliffhanger.

The two-part Season 3 finale was released on June 22, 2025, and was filled with many twists and turns for the characters, especially Cal and Maggie.

Before addressing the major cliffhanger, which will bring a lot of drama in Maggie's personal life in Sullivan's Crossing Season 4, the finale featured a major obstacle in her professional life at the Crossing.

The two-part finale took the viewers to Timberlake Regional Hospital, where Edna got a major health scare after she was diagnosed with a five-centimetre brain tumor. While Maggie assured her that surgery is the best option for her, Edna was against it.

However, without the surgery, Edna was at risk of a permanent vision loss and after much consideration, she agreed to have the surgery, only if Maggie performed it.

While Edna suffered a hemorrhage during the surgery, Maggie was able to successfully stop the bleeding and take the tumor out.

After Edna was out of harm's way, the second part of the Season 3 finale focused on Cal and Maggie's relationship. Cal felt that he was standing in the way of Maggie's career after she was offered a neurosurgeon position at a Chicago hospital.

To make things worse, Cal also found a letter in Maggie's old books, where she had decided to put her career ahead of her summer fling, Liam.

In the final moments of Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 finale, Maggie decides that she primarily wants to help people and can do that while staying in the Crossing with Cal. However, the happy couple was interrupted by Liam, who claimed to be Maggie's husband.
