Sweet Home Season 1 cast and characters: Here’s who brought the apocalyptic horror K-drama to life

Netflix's apocalyptic horror K-drama, Sweet Home, premiered in 2020 and narrated the story of Hyun-su, who, after a tragic accident in which he loses his family, relocates to Green Home Apartment complex. However, he and other residents of the Apartment complex get stuck inside trying to fight the apocalypse, where humans around Korea were being transformed into monsters.

The cast of Sweet Home includes popular names from the South Korean industry and includes stars such as Song Kang, Lee Do-hyun, and Go Min-si, among numerous others. Let's explore more about the cast of the Netflix series.

Adapted from a popular Naver Webtoon created by Hwang Young-chan and Kim Carnby, the Netflix K-drama depicts an apocalyptic world and the stories of survivors.

Here are the cast and characters of Sweet Home:

1) Song Kang as Cha Hyun-su

Song Kang's character Cha Hyun-su is the protagonist of the Netflix horror K-drama. He is a high school dropout who has come to live in Green Home after losing his family in a tragic accident. While he fights the monsters together with other residents of the Apartment complex, he also ends up becoming one of the monsters.

However, he also develops a unique ability that retains his human consciousness, and even after becoming a monster, he still tries to protect the residents of the Apartment. Song Kang is among the most popular South Korean actors of the current generation and has appeared in numerous acclaimed K-dramas such as Love Alarm and My Demon.


2) Lee Do-hyun as Lee Eun-hyeok

Lee Do-hyun's character Eun-hyeok is another resident of the apartment complex in Sweet Home. He is described as one of the intelligent and responsible characters who became the leader of the group of survivors due to his helping them survive in Season 1. He is also the one who decides to lock Hyun-su up after his transformation for everyone's safety.

Along with Song Kang, Lee Do-hyun is another popular name from the K-drama who has also been a part of various other fan-favorite K-dramas such as The Glory, Youth of May, and The Good Bad Mother, among several others.


3) Lee Si-young as Seo Yi-kyung

Lee Si-young's Yi-kyung is another important character from the Netflix K-drama. She is an ex-firefighter and among the characters who are not part of the original webtoon and were only created for the live-action series. She also plays an important part in the survival of teh group while also trying to look for her fiancé.

Lee Si-young has previously appeared in Playful Kiss, Salon De Holmes, and My Beautiful Bride, among others.


4) Go Min-si as Lee Eun-yu

Go Min-si played the character of Eun-yu, Eun-hyeok's adopted daughter. She is also part of the group of survivors from the apartment complex, and wanted to become a ballerina. She has a contrasting personality from her brother and is described as a little snobbish at the beginning of the series.

Go Min-si has previously appeared in Youth of May, The Frog, and most recently in Netflix's beloved K-drama, Tastefully Yours.


5) Lee Jin-wook as Pyeon Sang-wook

Lee Jin-wook's character Sang-wook is a 'contract killer' and is seen looking for one of the residents of the complex named Yoon-jae. While ruthless and suspicious, Sang-wook eventually becomes a part of the survivor group.

The South Korean actor is widely known for appearing in globally popular K-dramas such as Squid Game and Beyond the Bar.


6) Park Gyu-young as Yoon Ji-su

Along with others who keep the group alive, Park Gyu-young's character Ji-su also plays an important role in Sweet Home. Like Hyun-su, she also has a tragic past, but still fights for survival throughout the series, with making ' a baseball bat' as her weapon against the infected monsters.

Park Gyu-young is another Squid Game alum who was part of the horror Netflix K-drama and also appeared in It's Okay to Not Be Okay and Nine Puzzles.
