The latest fan-favorite K-drama, Tastefully Yours, returned with Episode 5 "Neither Hot nor Cold" on May 26, 2025. As expected, the story picks up right where it left off. Beom-woo finally takes the plunge and kisses Yeon-joo, pushing their relationship into uncharted territory.
What they didn’t see coming, though, was Myeon-suk and Chun-seong catching the moment and having a field day teasing them about it the next morning. Junjae has been modified after the fire, and the dining restaurant is finally ready to welcome customers again.
Meanwhile, Myeong-suk and Chun-seong won't stop teasing Beom-woo and Yeon-joo, but the chef declares it a mistake. However, they don't seem convinced that it was actually a mistake, and the whole town seems to know about the kiss now.
Later that evening, Yeon-joo finds a drunken Beom-woo waiting outside Junjae. He confronts Yeon-joo and asks her to take back her words and admit the kiss wasn't a mistake. Not only this, but Beom-woo also tells her that he'll take Yeon-joo on a date the next day.

Tastefully Yours Episode 5 recap: Past flames clash with present tensions
As Tastefully Yours Episode 5 continues, we finally get the first glimpse of When the Phone Rings star, Yoo Yeon-seok. He appears as the CEO and head chef, Jeon-min, of the three-star restaurant, Le Murir Sapporo, who is flying back to South Korea to meet Yeon-joo.
Meanwhile, Yeon-joo and Beom-woo head out to the market to buy ingredients to make special meals for their special guests who booked Junjae after they liked the gimbap Yeon-joo made during the food-truck contents.
The couple struggled to find the right restaurant for their parents to meet, one side being Korean and the other French. But they trusted Yeon-joo to bridge the gap, believing her food could bring both families together under one roof.
Later in the Tastefuly Yours Episode 5, Yeon-joo is startled to see Jeon-min at her dining restaurant and asks him to leave. Jeon-min, however, says that he missed her a lot and has returned to apologize and has something to talk about.
While Yeon-joo breaks down after seeing Jeon-min, Beom-woo finds him smoking outside Junjae and asks him to smoke somewhere away from the restaurant. The head chef of Le Murir returns in the evening, and when Beom-woo tells him that they're closing, Yeon-joo lets him in and prepares dinner.
Flashback in Tastefully Yours Episode 5 reveals Yeon-joo's past
As the Tastefully Yours episode continues, Jeon-min shows up again at the time of closing, but Yeon-joo spares him some time. The flashback then reveals she was a part of Le Murir, too.
Not only this, Yeon-joo is a certified chef who, after joining Le Murir, fell in love with Jeon-min. However, one day, Yeon-joo took the blame for Jeon-min at the restaurant as it caused huge damage to their reputation.
Yeon-joo took responsibility and resigned from the place she loved the most. This is how Yeon-joo can also speak French as she worked at Le Murir. She then broke up with Jeon-min and returned to South Korea. But now, the past flames are igniting in Tastefully Yours.

Yeon-joo unites two families before a heartfelt date with Beom-woo
The next day, Junjae's special guests arrive with their families, and the South Korean father didn't seem interested before tasting Yeon-joo's food. The couple belongs to different cultures but wants their parents to understand each other and accept their relationship.
Yeon-joo carefully combined South Korean and French cuisines. Her food became the reason both families shared a pleasant dinner, and even the customer's Korean father came to believe that, despite their cultural differences, they could truly become one family.
Later in the Tastefully Yours episode, Jeon-min shows up at Junjae again, this time for dinner. While Beom-woo says they're closing, Yeon-joo decides to cook dinner for Jeon-min and tells Beom-woo that she will show up on time for their date tomorrow.
Jeon-min asks Yeon-joo to come back to Le Murir as it needs her, but Yeon-joo doesn't seem interested. She then goes on a rooftop movie date with Beom-woo and is surprised to see how beautiful the place looks.
She also mentioned that it would have been expensive to rent the roof, to which Beom-woo replies, "Will you stop worrying about money? I'm Han Beom-woo". But in reality, he peeled onions for the owner to rent the rooftop.
After the date, Yeon-joo tells Beom-woo that she's an orphan and made money through cooking, like she's doing now. However, at Le Murir, she also fell in love with Jeon-min, but they eventually broke up.
But now, he's back and looks like Jeon-min will try his best to win back Yeon-joo. As seen in the preview for the upcoming episode, Yeon-joo leaves behind a note, explaining that Sapporo needs her and that she will return to Junaje soon. So, will Yeon-joo choose to go back to Jeon-min or open her heart to Beom-woo?
