Tastefully Yours Episode 9 recap: Yeon-jo takes a break from cooking

The next morning, Yeon-joo is in the kitchen when Myeon-suk and Chun-seong walk in, excitedly suggesting that they go on a real picnic this time. They even ask if the restaurant should close early for it, but Yeon-joo barely reacts as her mind is still stuck on the string of Beom-woo's betrayal.
The chef looked completely zoned out, and when asked, she brushed off Myeong-suk's concern. When Chun-seong was about to call Beom-woo, Yeon-joo told them that Jungjae would now run without him.
Initially, the two thought Yeon-joo and Beom-woo had a fight, but are shocked when Yeon-joo finally tells them what Beom-woo had been doing and that he stole the recipes. Later in the Tastefully Yours episode, Myeong-suk and Chun-seong wonder if things will get on track for the restaurant or not.
Yeon-joo has been making mistakes while cooking food, so she decides to take a break and return to the temple where she was raised. There, she finds peace, but her heart still hurts.
Yeon-joo also prepares a cake for one of the kids at the temple, after which one of the monks tells her that Beom-woo visited the temple. He couldn't confront her as he felt ashamed of his actions.
Beom-woo resigns from Motto in Tastefully Yours Episode 9

As the Tastefully Yours episode continues, Beom-woo decides to resign from Hansang. He apologized to Motto's staff and his assistant, saying it was always his fault as he had chosen the wrong track to achieve success.
However, his mother ensures someone is looking after Motto, as she tells Han Seon-woo to close down La Lecel and manage Motto till Beom-woo returns to work. One reason Beom-woo never realized the damage he was causing to other restaurants is that his mother never guided him back onto the right path.
As seen at the beginning of Tastefully Yours, she made her own sons compete with each other if they wanted to earn the ownership of Hansang. All she ever cared about was earning three stars, even if it came through dishonesty.
Jungjae also gets the Diamant three stars in Tastefully Yours Episode 9

In a surprising twist in Tastefully Yours Episode 9, it’s revealed that the man from the French family visiting Jungjae to discuss their daughter’s wedding is actually a Diamant editor who was impressed by the food at Junjae. The editor requested a change before the announcement, as he added one more restaurant in South Korea that won three stars.
During the announcement, the Hansang Group and its chairman are overjoyed to hear that Motto is the only restaurant in Seoul to receive the prestigious Diamant three stars. But their excitement quickly turns to shock when the editor reveals that there’s actually one more winner, and it’s none other than Yeon-joo’s Jungjae.
Startled by the results, Hansang's chairman then announces a cook-off between Jungjae and Motto. She informed the producer that there had been a change in the idea of a documentary he wanted to make.
The chairman then pulls Beom-woo aside for a tense conversation, warning him that if he refuses to go through with the cook-off, she’ll make sure Jungjae is wiped out completely. And not just that, she also threatens to ruin Yeon-joo’s future, vowing she’ll never be able to build a name for herself in the culinary world.
Worried about what might happen to Jungjae, Beom-woo returns to town and confesses everything to Myeong-suk and Chun-seong. Later in the Tastefully Yours episode, Chun-seong decides to forgive Beom-woo, but Myeong-suk admits she still can’t fully trust him.
With Yeon-joo away at the temple, the three are determined to give it their all in the cook-off and prove that Jungjae deserves to stand above Motto. This competition might be the one thing that brings Yeon-joo back, because there’s no way she’d let her beloved restaurant vanish without a fight.
