"That was once my friend": The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo recalls Karen Huger after her sentencing

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 premiered on October 5, 2025. The debut episode of the latest season featured housemates meeting to discuss Karen Huger's trial and sentencing.

Bravo show's latest season features cast members including Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch, Keiarna Stewart, Tia Glover, and Angel Massie.

While the housewives met to discuss Karen's sentencing, the conversation soon turned to various relationships. During their meeting, Stacey also faced questions from TJ.

Gizelle initiated the conversation and noted that Karen Huger was in jail. Listening to her, fellow cast member, Wendy Osefo added more about it. She noted that despite her differences with Karen, she was once her friend.

"For me the worst part is the fact that, that was so instant. Like, she was taken into custody right away. Like, how did she process that...does she know? Did she prepare? We might have had our differences but at the core of me, that was once my friend. So, I want what's best for her," said Wendy.

With The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 debut, the first episode features housemates meeting to discuss Karen Huger. As Giselle talked about her and how she felt about her going to jail, fellow housemates also shared their thoughts on the situation.

She thanked everyone for coming and shared that she felt that they all "needed" to be together.

"I am so happy that you guys could find the time to get together, because I think with what just happened with Karen, we just needed to be...just be together. Every morning, I wake up and I'm like..." said Giselle.

Listening to Giselle talk about how she felt about Karen, Wendy added:

"Karen's in jail. That's what I think too."

The Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy added that for her the "worst" part was that everything happened "instantly." She recalled Karen getting arrested and taken into custody right away. She talked about her situation and whether she could prepare for anything before everything that happened happened.

Wendy also noted that she and Karen had their differences but, she was once her friend. That was the reason why she wanted the "best" for Karen.

A clip from show's previous season's reunion was played. It featured some of the housewives talking to Andy Cohen. In the clip, Wendy revealed that "that was not her friend," as she referred to Karen.

The Real Housewives of Potomac housewives further discussed how Karen was really in jail and that it was quite an experience. They also talked about the bathroom, taking showers in the jail, among other activities which Karen must be going through while in the jail.

While everyone was sharing their thoughts about Karen's situation and her sentencing, soon, Giselle shared more:

"A part of me though, I am gonna be honest, this is the fourth DUI. There does have to be accountability. She knows like, never to do this again. Do I wanna see her in jail? Absolutely not," said Gizelle.

Gizelle added that she still couldn't believe that Karen was in jail.
