"That's already a sign": Love Is Blind star Edmond reacts to Kalybriah's interest in his childhood and upbringing

The first episode of Love Is Blind Season 9 featured multiple blind dates among singles. One of them was between Edmond and Kalybriah.

During their blind date, they talked about their childhood, sports, activities they enjoyed, and more. One of the topics they discussed was Edmond being in foster care system.

After learning about that, Love Is Blind star Kalybriah asked him to share more about his childhood. He replied that no one had asked him to do so and that it was a "sign."

"Oh my goodness! Honestly, no one even asked me this, KB, so that's already a sign, but my upbringing...I grew up in West Virginia. It's a really poverty...poor state. All my life I've been in foster care. My parents, they either had custody of me or I was in custody of the state, staying with random families," shared Edmond.

The first episode of the social experiment featured a blind date between Edmond and Kalybriah. Before his blind date with Kalybriah, Edmond confessed to the cameras about giving people a chance.

He talked about going to meet-ups, using dating apps, and even asking his friends to find a match for him.

"Like, I've done everything. But I'm going into this experiment with an open mind. Right now, my top choice is Kalybriah. She's really fun as well as really energetic. And she, like, matches my energy," added Edmond.

During their date, Love Is Blind star Edmond told her that he had "no sparkle" like that. But with her, he felt a sparkle. The two talked about what kind of marriage they were looking for, being a breadwinner, and more during their blind date.

Kalybriah noted that she didn't want to be a housewife.

"I'm gonna be working. I went to school. I got these degrees, baby. They're going to use," added Kalybriah.

Later, when Edmond asked about her profession, Love Is Blind star said that she was a social worker. He said that he also loved to travel, and talked about his favorite places.

"There's big skate community out there. I went to go rollerblade, so I got to meet a lot of people from the UK, skate with them and, see all of London," he said.

Kalybriah asked him if he wanted to enjoy those activities with his partner. She noted that she was also active and often spent her time doing "active things." The two also learned about each other's love for sports from their college days.

Love Is Blind star Kalybriah also asked Edmond about his work.

"A realtor. I was a property manager. I was in the field five and a half years, but finally decided to leave and do what I was really passionate for, which is being in real estate."

While discussing social work and more, Edmond revealed growing up in foster care. He added that he hadn't shared that with anyone there yet.

"So, let's dig into it. I wanna know about your upbringing," responded Kalybriah.

Listening to Kalybriah wanting to know more about his childhood, Edmond's reaction was that it was a "sign." It was because no one else had asked him to share about that.
